I'm going to give it a go. Not sure if any cultivators have used such an old sub. I have used three week old before with success. Any thoughts?

Some mix of poo, forest soil, verm, coir, gypsum.. I made up some fresh but made a couple small trays with the old to see if it fruits or contams. I hate waste lol.

Lately I’ve been freezing substrate in gallon ziplock bags one batch at a time but I use CVG. As soon as I have jars ready to spawn I just thaw a batch out overnight.

Why not re-pasteurize or even sterilize?

To clarify - Pastuerize, freeze until needed, thaw, spawn.

I made up fresh. I was wondering if since the beneficial microbes got a real strong foothold if there would be any significant difference in the health of the fungi. Along those lines lol. Has nothing to do with laziness haha.

i'm interested to see what happens. my money is on a contam bonanza. if it were cvg i'd think differently but with poo it seems like a bad idea. has it been sealed since you pasteurized it?

Yup. After it was pasteurized it stayed in a quart jar in a sealed box. I think I may let more sub get old and try CVG and a few others. You know for science lol.

Nah just used it as a nutritious top dressing with a verm casing. I did however mix it up with some APE, Malabar, and Pan. cyan (Jamaican). Used some of it in an outdoor P. hispanica patch as well.
