Building organic soil with organic ferts is not the same as slow release ferts.

I agree.
Also though the Nectar for the Gods One Shot Granules have been a great slow release for me for the past couple of very rainy years.

Speaking of Nectar for the Gods...
Mr. Piggy...I vaguely recall you mentioning you were going to use NFTGs for the first time for a grow you did sometime in the last 2ish years? Or maybe I have you mixed up with someone else...but if so, I'm curious what you thought of the stuff?
I used their "Medusas Magic" last summer and it was the first time I've used a "bottled" nute (besides fish emulsion), I've always just used dry amendments and teas.
...Other than amending the soil with some Dr. Earth and compost about a month before planting, all I fed the plants/soil was the Medusas Magic and magnesium sulfate and a calcium supplement. I went a bit heavy with it a few times and no issues.
Plants turned out pretty dank, great resin...there's so many variables in the mix though, along with the climate I'm growing in now being drastically different compared to where I used to live/grow, that I can't really give a true opinion on the stuff.
That said...I do plan on sticking with that brand and getting some of their other nutes my next grow.
I fed some leftovers to some of my cactus & succulents and they became much more vibrant and vigorous, lushed up real nice.
Stoned ramblin'....just smoked some Rainbow Belts 2.0 from last summer's grow. I'm down to like 3g already lol , already smoked up most of the "dank" stuff I got from last summer (smallest photo-period plants I've ever grown, limited by space and sunshine/warmth). I regret giving away the other clone I had of the Rainbow belts 2.0, same with the Pecan Pie and Sparkle Face F2, I would have loved to have more of them all rather than the other strains I grew. Had I known how dank those were going to be I would have chosen having less variety but overall more dank (I had to keep my # of plants on the low).

They were alright. I think for the price I wouldn't personally opt to buy them, but I'm cheap. It's definitely worth the free sample pack ($50 or so in shipping)

I recently had my cousin pick me up some medical herb from oklahoma, she grabbed me an oz of this strain called "sweet heat"... I've been looking for seeds since, only place I've found them is neptune seed bank.. anyone use them before? I've read a lot of bad reviews on them and I'm iffy on buying anything from them... if anyone here knows where I can get some beans for that strain please point me in the right direction... I was pleasantly surprised, this shit actually gave me a head change after 2 bong rips... would like to add that one to the garden

How long do carbon filters usually last for you guys? Someone recently visited my house and said it reeks. I must be noseblind to it.
My carbon filter has been going non-stop for about 1.5 years so I ordered a new one and some ona gel. I never tried the gel before but I know not to put in the same room as the plants.

It varies wildly brand to brand. I had a 4x12 phresh that lasted seven years, and a cheapy amazon that lasted two. Some didn't even work for one year, the I know better cheap category. Humidity can greatly affect their odor reduction, a very high humidity will render them useless. It's also important to make sure your setup is drawing through a filter and not pushing. Having negative pressure in the ducting instead of positive pressure prevents smell from pushing out of cracks. Also, make sure you've got a big enough filter for the draw of your fan (CFM + static pressure ratings)

Gotta say I'm really impressed with them too. Definitely where price meets function and quality. I'm blown away by how quiet their impulse driven inline fans are. Fucking silent on lowest two settings, even drawing through a filter it keeps my 2x2 ambient while running 145w of LED.

Yeah Iβd definitely top them, my first grow I topped very early and also stripped most of the leaves off on one to mainline like the shitty tek I followed said and they took fucking forever to recover cuz they barely had leaves.
Iβve also found you can top when the newest node is barely there and just take off like 1/4β of the leaves poking up and itβll top or fim but not slow down at all.

Those of you that grow in a tent...
How are you controlling humidity? I don't think I've seen any dehumidifiers in the pics of the tent grows here.
Or do you all just live in a very dry climate? Or do y'all just run a dehumidifier in the room with the tent, and the airflow/exchange through the tent is enough to keep the humidity/moisture down inside?
I finished 6 plants in my bedroom last fall. Since some early season rains were rolling through and most of the plants needed another 10 to 14 days, I pulled em' inside into a corner of my room and had them finishing under a 1000w light.
With no dehumidifier running the humidity in my room with the plants in there was up around 75% to 80% (not ideal for flowering). The first day I had em' in there before I got the dehumidifier running, when walking into my room I could feel how "thick" and moist the air was. Once I got it going I had the dehumidifier running several times through the day to keep it down around 50%...and that's with the plants in my open room with tall ceilings/lots of volume/space, I can't imagine how humid it would be inside a tent/small space with plants.

This. Inside of the tent is wildly impractical for a dehumidifier and if you have proper air exchange it wouldn't make a difference anyway. I set my dehumidifier in the room to the rh level I want, and then work out what setting I have to set my inline fan to in order to keep my tent's temperatures and humidity ambient. You will be able to keep a much more stable growing environment by stabilizing the RH and Temps of the room the tent is in. This will allow you to really dial in the tent.

I run my dehumidifier directly outside the tent with it pointed at the air intake. I got a really old dehumidifier so it can be controlled with a plug adapter on the AC infinity controller. Most new dehumidifiers won't automatically turn on when power cycles.

Romulan is a name I haven't heard in a long time. Nice to see people still growing the old school strains.
