Bph said: Man I really don’t know what to do here. My gut is telling me to leave these fucking plants alone and don’t touch them. But my brain is telling me to cut a bunch of these fan leaves off and tie this motherfucker back to the side of the pot as tight as I can. This is nothing like tomatoes you can actually work with a tomato and the one photo I grew was more like a tomato there’s space in between growth so you can move things around. But these things are just stacked up with less than an inch between nodes or whatever it’s called. What should I do? I gotta go to work soon so I think I’m gonna put them back in the tent and leave them for now. But I have to deal with them soon. I got some binder clips and shit to tie them up with. Just not sure how to without breaking or cutting something.
I have not had good experience with autos and stopped doing them after 2 runs. First time no pruning, no deleafing, my gut said leave them be and ended up with pm. They were roughly 3/4ft tho in big beds, good circulation but middles too dense. Heard great things just didn't happen in my experience.
Also yes as hummingbird said DE is useless once wet. Neem meal is a smart idea for the bin tho, never thought of that!
On the gnat topic - you can also look into nematodes and watering them into your soil - make sure the nematodes are fresh and stay refrigerated until watering though.

Damn. As keeping them in check is more of a preference, some of the best harvest have been from overgrown, passed the lights, jungle boyz hah. Stay up on deleafing, lollipopping/airing out the middles, and circulation, when jungled out and you're good.

Growing them tall to keep away from the soil makes sense, didn’t think of that.
I’m with you hobbit, the few 4-5oz plants I’ve grown have been much better/more enjoyable to grow than the 1-2.5oz ones.
It’s always a battle between big plants or variety now. My one or two big ones mixed with 3-4 smaller ones has been a good compromise.
I’ve been looking for tents and found a guy selling one that looks huge, like 4x8, but he hasn’t gotten back to me with the actual size yet. He wants 125 for it which is cool but im gonna see if he’ll trade for shrooms once I meet him if he seems ok. Im assuming I could prob assemble a monster grow op pretty quick using only mushrooms and fb marketplace/Craigslist

Poor photo but have to share, top dressed today with what was left from a fish protein, bat guano, kelp, neem, malted barley ferment. 14 days old.
Smells worse than it looks...had to kick on the carbons in veg

Oh thank God. I thought you were taking up an offensive position.
That would have required defensive retaliation.

Finally getting the N worked out in my homemade soil, pretty sure I didn't compost the manures long enough for them to build up enough available nitrogen or I didn't use enough this time, seriously need to start measuring it and other amendments.. it was almost like I didn't add anything in certain pots.
This is the 3 White99 plants at the end of week 3, excluding the 2 on the left in the black and cloth pots
In this pic, the 2 scraggly ones in the back left are the Jillybean I was playing with the ph levels. The 4 in front in the smaller pots are bag seed at week 2 veg.

Does anybody know what causes these U shaped leaves? I’ve seen one or two before but this Afghan has a lot of them. And Laoberry right before transplant.

Damn this got buried quick.
Fan blowing on it? Wind burn would be my first guess. Genetics come into play as well, but it's very likely transpiration related.

In my experience folks will always trade for shrooms cause they are so cheap to us we can offer up a lot. Show him 2 zips of some pretty fruits and the tent is yours. I always got more mush than I got a home for. I just had to throw out half a pound that the seal broke on and they got humid. Wish I could have traded anything for them. Even a pack of socks.

I figured transpiration also, that's when I get those.

Thanks guys my humidity is way way too low so it must not like that then.
Turns out the grow tent is 4x8. I really want it but that’s so big. I think I’d rather have two smaller ones but idk.

If I were you, but that's just me of course, I'd hang two 315 cmh bulbs next to each other with a 100cm UVR8 bulb in the middle in that 4X8. Would fit perfectly and would easily yield you a kilogram of quality bud if you dial it in properly and use decent strains.
That's the good thing about CMH. You yield 500g easily under 315W, and it's quality. Can't really go wrong there, even the price is better than a decent led board as long as you don't count your replacement bulbs. Granted, that's another 100 bucks every couple of grows but that's peanuts with what you can make back in the meantime.

So I have a fair amount of roots coming out the bottom of my 2.6 gal pots and I’m about a week from switching to flower. Should I transfer one more time before going to 12/12?
Waited a little too long in between feedings so I have some deficiencies, but they’re starting to get their color back. Still a lot to learn but making progress. (L to R: 2x Banana OG, 2x Jack Herer, 2x Gelato and one Zkittles in the back)

Lol that’s the thing, it seems huge but I know I’ll absolutely end up expanding to that size eventually anyway. My main issue at the moment is the smell. The scrubber I bought is 390cfm so I tried just setting it on a table in the middle of the small bedroom I use figuring it would easily filter all the air. It helps but not nearly enough right now with basically a 2x4 canopy in mid/late flower.

My guess is they would be ok as is if you want, but would be much better in 5gal. Those are pretty big and would definitely like the space for the flowering stretch.

if your 2x4 area is sealed up it would work way better. yours is kinda open right aka?
i have the bottoms of my oldest 2 stripped pretty good like them one pics. my crude fuel is 24.5inches tall. its not the tallest ive had but its pretty tall. the wedding cheesecake auto cross is the same way. look how tall they are compared to the mainlined LCxCN & the tatooine donut, who are on paint buckets to get as tall.

wedding cheesecake seems to be ahead of the others. she matured faster, trichomes faster, but she aslo had 3 months veg. not really on purpose so i stunted them for awhile.

here is the tatooine donut

she smells just like the LCxCN with maybe a hint of lime. LCxCN tastes so good. its amazing.
i started to get light burn on the plants directly under the light. it started to light bleach them but when i raised the light ( its on 100% and has been for a week+ now) it fixed the issue, but idk if its still maybe slightly too much. its at 24in from the canopy now.
sorry if the pics are kinda blurry.

I just watered them when the pic was taken. I fell through a boat dock Saturday and busted up my chest so they are slightly neglected.
@T.C.O. it could be that section of plants root zone is dry and it is cupping like that to preserve moisture. I really don't know, but I have seen that with some of mine, only to realize the dry spot in the soil when I pulled the plant at harvest.
@Hobbit 24 inches should be good, that's what I keep mine at.

20w per sq. ft.? Must be dreaming. Two 630's maybe, but 4x8 does seem excessive anyway. I'd like to see it tho, when are you converting?

I don’t have anything to compare it too cause it’s my first tent but I love my 5x10. I could see getting a 5x5 once I’m into photos and need a veg tent but part of me wishes I sprang for the 10x10. Even if I only used half the tent. I like the idea of getting in there to work instead of having to bring each one out into the garage to water and such. I kinda want to get one for a mush lab. Throw the flow hood in there and some shelf’s for bags... something about the shinny Mylar is comfortable to me
