Autos are extremely sensitive to nutes and can get stunted very easily.
The lack of recovery time due to the daylight neutral flowering trait means no time to veg out of a stunt.
Autos are very reliable and do produce better under a 20/4 or greater light regimen. Simple math.
12/12 for six weeks is 504 hours of light.
20/4 for six weeks is 840 hours of light.
Everything else equal, a TRUE daylight neutral auto will produce a lot more and better bud under the 20/4 regimen.

Absolutely not with autos.
We're again dealing with stunting autos. The best thing you can do to an autoflower plant is to not mess with it. If you take off an already dwarf plant's solar collectors you have stunted it.
Remember, autos are not like photoperiod plants. The whole name of the game with them is to reduce stress and interfere as little as possible. So the LST is fine, but avoid removing any parts from an auto.

Hi Star, mind a couple of pointers?
It looks like you're hitting those autos with way too much nutes, N in particular.
With autos it's best to start out at 1/4, even 1/8 strength nutes and work your way up as they ask for more. It's okay to underfeed an auto a little bit, but overfeeding them stunts them and that's that.
It's also good to start them out in a nute moderate/light soil, and in the pot you intend to finish them in. Fox example, a soil like ocean forest is potentially too hot for autos to be started in, but cut it in half with a seedling soil and it's going to be better off.
Best is building your own soil with a neutral base and supplementing it with worm castings, dolomite lime, and a very light dose of starter organic nutes.
What light do you have and how far off the tops of the plants is it?

I've seen tons of monster autos that can out perform photos.

Most people can't get results with them because they treat them like photos and don't understand why they don't perform. Not a stab at you, it just is what it is.

Y'all keep talking about autos like they are all the same.
Go do some internet searching and see all the different autos available.
Start with Mephisto Genetics and Dutch Passion.

Last summer's 4 plant outdoor grow. Gave most of it to patients, been a hard year on everyone and they could use some free organic bud.

Those plants spent all day in the high desert sun, I'm willing to bet when I cut the buds off the plant I could have thrown one through a window.
I'm not going to lie AKA, it's a treat to hold giant buds.

Yup. Also a good idea to keep an eye on your females after they sex and are up-potted. You never know when one will throw the odd nanner half way through flowering.

Right? I remember when they were testers on IG doing runs with little colorful autos. It's been fun to watch their arc over the years. I wish it were easier to get a hold of some of their genetics, but I can wait.
Right now I'm toying with a repro of old HighRise Fire99 autos. Fantastic little plants, but I should have stored the seed better. I got a 2 out of 30 germ on them, and lucky me one was male and one was female. Not exactly a great selection to pick from, but it'll be nice to have some fresh seeds on standby in case the second round has a similar sprout rate. Definitely going to hit up the Maine's Own Blueberry with some F99 pollen. It makes a very quick finishing photosensitive cross, with autos showing up in the successive generations. Assuming I get a few good clones from the MOB I can back cross it until I have a MOB auto. That would be fantastic.

AKA, have you considered making a small vege cabinet and keeping bonsai moms?
I can keep/clone a lot of genetics in a very small space with not too intense of light. The advantages of clones over seed is not having to wait for plants to mature, and you can get your clone dialed in super tight.

Are y'all sure those are mites and not springtails? Root mites are the only ones I could imagine being on a pot bottom, but mostly what I see down there are harmless springtails. Same with sprouting seeds, I often find springtails congregated around them.

Purple Pheno of Maine's own Blueberry. The Highrise S2 of the MOB clone has a lot of phenotypical variation and everyone seems to have a favorite. I like the very dark purple pheno that smells and taste like blueberry pie. Some people find the green pheno to be more potent, but I think the potency isn't linked to bud color. I've had purple phenos that knocked the green out of the ballpark. Like an Idiot I never cloned it and now I'm running the last seeds I have. Hoping for a purple pheno again so I can cross it and back cross it to make a MOB auto.
Don't be like piggy, make clones in case your seed turns out to be a magic pheno. You can always chuck the clones if it turns out meh.
Are any of y'all working on crosses or pollen chucking for fun?

A gallon jar of Purple makes for happy. I like the contrast with the lime green stems.
Have fun with the colorful stuff! If I ever do get lucky and lock down the purple mob as auto I'll do a seed giveaway.

One of the "green" phenos of MOB. Really the phenos vary from pure green to pure purple and all stops inbetween.

OMG, Y'all! I was just in my little tent putzing around and up-potting when I cut the lower leaves off of a Sensi Star bagseed sprout and sniffed them. Pure fruity bubblegum goodness with some floral touch on the end. I don't know what pollen snuck in and hit them, but if I'm only going by smell it's going to be great to find out!
Carefully bred lines of cannabis are amazing, but I'll always have a bigger place in my heart for bagseeds. I can't not grow them!

It is. When taken at the right time it results in crazy branching. Great way to make a Mother with tons of cuts on it.

I'm just getting restarted so no moms at the moment, but I'm always on the hunt. I'm moving at the end of the month and will have a lot of space to set up a couple of tents and a lab again.
I like making bonsai moms instead of grafting. Plants kept in vege in little 4" containers. When they outgrow the container I pull the root ball out, cut an inch or so off each side and the bottom, then repot it in the same pot with fresh soil. I also cut a lot of the canopy away when I do this. It's more hands on than a big mom, but it takes up so very little space that I can have five or six sets of genetics in the space one plant usually occupies. ICmag has a thread on it somewhere, which is just screen shots from OG.
