Oh I wasn't critiquing you at all!  I'm mad at cash grabbing people who call themselves breeders but are really just reversing and pollen chucking clone only strains and whatever is popular at each other.  Breeding is fast becoming a lost art thanks to legality.

Buying from oldschool breeders is a good bet.  I love the original AK 47 from serious seeds.  Anything BOG (bushy old grower) is a home run, but he died in late 2020 so his seeds are becoming rare.  I'm trying like hell to hunt down some bogglegum.

True females are extremely rare. If they even really exist anymore. After several years of searching and hundreds of reversals I'm putting them on the list with Big Foot as a probably.. but your chances of seeing one is about the same.
True female doesn't exactly mean stable phenotypically, but they cannot be reversed and are genetically incapable of expressing hermaphrodite traits. Sounds like a dream come true but the down side is using them to breed can lead to genetic bottle necking. At some point you have to enter the risk zone again and introduce a male. True males might even be more rare than a True female. A True Male would lack the mutated Y chromosome that causes what we see as an issue. The plants see it as an evolutionary step so we're in for a good fight trying to get rid of it. Better to focus on breeding down the sensitivity triggers imo.

Oh frfr, I should have said you can't make a true female plant herm .  Yes on the true male plants, that's why breeders have kept some males as a clone for over 30 years.

Waited too long to up-pot from the cups and the plants are grumpy.  Now they have some breathing room for a couple of weeks while I figure out a vege station.

Y'all, I have a problem.  I bought two clones for no reason.  OG Kush and Bruce Banner 3.

Here I go again...

can someone link me to some beginner growing stuff, I might try to grow a few plants. I have been out of the game for a while, I went to the recreational shop they didn't have clones... they have seeds... I would have to use good old sunlight though... out here by border of Utah.

I also might rent this space from a guy met at the bar. Has potential?

Yeah sure if you're going small time commercial

If you're growing for personal just get a grow tent.  You'll be amazed at what you can grow with some LEDs in a 2' x 4' grow tent in your home.  It takes a bit of learning to get up and running well, but it's easier than ever to grow your own.

It's strain dependent.  Some barely stretch at all when put into flower and some stretch three times their height.  If you don't know what strain you have, AKA's advice of flower when they are half the height you want them to finish at is good advice.

As far as what's going on with your plants, it's hard to tell.  Can you please take some in focus photos that also show the whole plant from top to bottom?  It could be a Nitrogen deficiency, but I think I see a bit more going on in there.

More information always aids in diagnosis.  Started from seed or clone, what strain are they,  what size pot are they in, what medium are you using and what brand, what are you feeding them and at what ph, what is your setup (lights, time lights on/off, distance from plants to lights, ect), any info about their conditions and history.

Until then it's pretty much just guessing with some blurry photos of random parts of the plant.

I have actually used a spray bottle on grown adults and it works.  There was a young guy in a kitchen I worked at that was way too fond of dropping racial slurs during the course of work, so I just started spraying him in the face every time he did.  Pavlov was onto something, the guy eventually stopped.  Nothing funnier than shaking a sprayer at a grown adult and watching them flinch and stop talking.

I use a 4" inline in my 2x2 tent on it's lowest setting and it's fine, but that's because i have a 135w LED QB and it doesn't put out a whole lot of heat.  It depends on how many true watts you're running for lights.

So yeah, it should be absolutely fine.

Your plants might be able to more effectively take up nitrogen under the power of the LED lights.  I've more noticed leaf color to be strain dependent with indicas having the darker green more often.

Do not, my friends, rinse your bud.

The grow room needs to be kept clean and off limits to things that shed.  Vacuum daily if needed, dust often.

Do you think a solar panel in a window could sustain a sufficiently-powered grow light for a few plants?

I have never used grow lights before, and find myself in a situation where I'd like to grow some cannabis in my room. For a few small clones, how much wattage do you think I'll need?

Nope.

Are you off grid or can you plug into the wall?  Why solar?

I hate to have to tell you this, but if you live in the northern hemisphere it's time to start over.

You put your plants out too soon and they are going into flower because the daylight hours were too short.  Soon the hours will be long enough that they will become confused and try to revert to vege growing.  This will massively fuck with the plant and cause it to flower poorly in the fall, and later than in normally would making harvest less likely.  If they were my plants I would scrap them and put new plants out later on.  June 10th is a safe set out date for northern hemisphere growers.

Also leaving that male out with the other plants while they flower will give you lots of seeds, but it will drastically reduce the quality and quantity of your harvest.  It's best to get some pollen from a male you keep isolated VERY far away from the females and just use a qtip or brush to pollinate a couple of lower buds.  Still results in tons of seeds.

Here's the one they didn't eat

This is what is left from one that was just a little smaller and was ready for final planting,  you can clearly see where it was chewed off in the 3rd pic. They are in one gallon pots in these two pics, 1st pic is a 4 gallon fabric pot.

Edit: I am agreeing with you,  you just misunderstood me. What do you think of brickweed female,  bottom of last page, I hate she died from neglect,  but y'all can see that brickweed is beautiful before the cartels get hold of it from the way she looks and if she could have went a few more weeks,  she would have been especially pretty.

Simple solution to that problem is eat the squirrels before they can eat your plants.

Hank Shaw has a killer squirrel pie recipe.

If you're northern hemisphere I would wait until June 1st and the very earliest to put a plant out.  I've been tempted myself given the good weather we've been getting here in Oregon, but I'm trying to hold out for June 10th.

I've been mixing soil a lot lately.  Thanks to poor weather and general exhaustion from work I'm behind on half of my big pots.  I've got a promising male and what I have fingers crossed is a female to continue the highrise F99 OG auto line.  I really hope these pants work out and I can make a bucket of seeds.  A long time ago I used to test for the now defunct Highrise and occasionally a real winner would slide into the mail box.  The Fire OG x Cinderella 99 auto is a real winner.  Produces sticky buds that are very potent and has a great daytime high.  Also great for crossing to photos to shorten up their outside flowering time while not losing any potency or quality.

Nah, no person is stupid enough to go in my backyard, because Sasha the guard hog doesn't tolerate strangers in her yard, she 5 foot long and 480+ pounds with 2 inch incisors.  she has no problem with keeping people out, just the sight of her is enough to make people think twice because she looks feral and will charge on sight.

I think the brickweed female had another month, I say she was dead because every single leaf was cracker dry and fell out at the slightest touch, pistles were shriveling up, she wasn't coming back from not being watered for at least 10 days, possibly 7, but 10 is most likely.
The outdoor Brickweed female is still chugging along, luckily we've been getting some rain while I've been gone. They are doing pretty good but are showing their own signs of neglect, will post pics when I get back home again in a few days.

Hobbit, let them get at least a 12-18" before putting in the ground, because all kinds of critters like weed.

Has anyone ever been successful using molasses to control sucking pest like aphids? I started using on my outside plants and it seems like it helps, but needs to be repeated a couple times a week it seems.

My uncle kept two very large, VERY LARGE hogs in his yard and never had problems.  The one time the tweaker neighbor hopped the fence when he got in a fight with someone was the last time.  It was the middle of the night and my Uncle suddenly heard screaming and pig squealing.  The next morning he hosed the blood off the hog's face and the fence.  You better bet that pig got some treats that day.

No one ever touched that yard again.

The soil mixing onslaught continues.  I'm amazed at how far down the squirrels got nuts in some of these pots.  Since they've started sprouting I've given them their own containers to grow in.  Can never have too many nut trees around, food that grows itself unattended is super important.

Anyway, some of the pots will be ready for planting june 1st-10th, the rest a little later.  No worries, they'll still get big.  It all gets given away anyhow, screw the corporate cannabis villains while enjoying gardening!  The plants get big enough to shade my house in the summer, so I'm grateful.

This year I'm also being smort enough to put the big pots on pallets.  If the plants need to be moved I can have a few friends over and we can lift them.
