I’ve never seen that before. You can just drop the seed into the balls? I figured you’d have to use a little starter pod or something.

Three very different plants this time. The triple cheese in the middle has a weird structure, almost every node has stems growing from them. Very few spots where it’s just hairs growing from the branch.
Hopefully I’ll get the nutrient stuff nailed down this grow, trying to pay a lot of attention to the leaf color.

The final piece of the puzzle just arrived

I’m using the GH trio.
For this round I cut out most of the calmag, switched to filtered water instead of my 430ppm tap, and I’m moving through the feed chart a little quicker than I did the first time.
I’m pretty sure the tap and calmag was screwing things up, and also that I stayed at each level (transition-early bloom-etc.) for too long which ended up in too much N in the later stages.
It’s tough figuring out what’s going on with the plants and nutrients. A lot of the problems have the same symptoms so you really have to know your stuff. That’s definitely going to be the area I’ll have the most trouble with. Especially when it comes to the sort of compound stuff like something throws the ph off which causes lockout which manifests as deficiency symptoms even though the ec is correct.

Yeah I definitely like to start low and gradually increase every couple days.
Just got my landraces. This guy was not messing around with the stealth shipping.

I thought I got scammed for a few seconds until I started squeezing everything and felt some seeds

I really just want to try pure genetics after hearing so many stories about Sativa highs in the 60-70s.
Definitely going to make seeds, hopefully regular and feminized.
With shipping and everything it was $58 I think. Not bad especially compared to the prices for normal seeds.

Love how Sativas grow rows of buds on the arms.

No I’d never heard of it til right now.
I just looked it up and that’s pretty interesting. I actually did something similar this round where I cut the amount of grow down to just a few drops instead of 8ml or whatever because of the N tox I had the first time.
The site I just saw says 8ml and 16ml per gallon which seems like a ton of nutrients though. The chart I go by is usually 3-4ml.
Having that much nitrogen in the micro bottle would explain a lot of the problems I had as well.

It seems like leaving some runoff in the tub every time would definitely build up, but it might be really slowly if there’s not a ton evaporating.
That’s a great set up I need to build something similar. Carrying the plant to the garage to feed it every day was fine when it was one in a 2gal pot but now that everything is coir it’s not a great system.
Those bins give me flashbacks to old kitchen jobs

Nice man that thing got big.
What is it like 4 weeks of flower?? Mine didn’t really seem to smell much until right before harvest.
Got a couple chunks of some nice hash from the trim of my last plant.

Some bomb stuff in here.
I just took a quart jar and filled it like 40% with trim, then add freezing 99% iso until it’s covered and swirl it for maybe ten seconds then pour it through a strainer into a glass dish to let it evaporate.
Got like 1.5g of some super nice hash that immediately turns to liquid and disappears in a second when you hit it.

I’ve never noticed any issues with iso but I’ll have to try ever clear next.
As long as I don’t have to bake any salt and make anhydrous

I’m getting something new on this lcxcn clone.
A bunch of the buds instead of being pyramid shaped with one poof on top, two underneath etc, they’ve got two on top. It makes them look really wide compared to all the buds I’ve had before.
It kinda looks like it might be normal and my plants before just weren’t healthy or mature enough to make that type of formation.
Kinda hard to see what I mean in the pics

Is this a normal thing? It looks like the buds might fill in as a round shape.
It’s definitely much bigger and healthier than the mother. I can see a couple of the biggest tops are going to be huge and have a bunch of smaller buds forming an outline almost that’ll fill in and make one giant bud.
Didn’t have anything like that the first round.

Just odd looking fans with huge middle fingers on this plant.

I’ve been doing lots of research into landraces prepping for the next grow. Came across a little series called strain hunters that has some good episodes. It’s crazy how heavily bred seeds have made their way to extremely remote places. These guys will plant a field with them and it takes like 3-5 years before the local plants have totally absorbed them and they have to order new seeds.
But there’s some insane plants in the middle seasons there where a few will have reverted to super tall landrace Sativa frames but still make enormous indica type buds. Some of the colas must have been like 12oz.

Yeah they mention a couple times that a big reason for collecting the seeds was because so many isolated areas were buying seeds from Europe and polluting the traditional genetics.
I had no idea Franco died I just looked it up, he’s the best one on the show. Not often you see people taken down by malaria these days.

Hell yeah it does. I love seeing people big bowls and tubs full of bud.
That Slurricane looks potent too.
I really need to buy a tent and light for a veg room. I should’ve known better, just like mush cult this immediately went from messing around out of curiosity to serious business
Another old closet is my clone farm/veg room right now. I can’t wait to try making seeds with these, especially because my triple cheese pheno sucks and I want to start a new one.

I’m loving the double chocolate in the middle. The color and structure is one of my favorite types of plant. It’s drinking twice as much as any of my other ones did/do so I’m hoping it’ll have some big long colas.

Are all these germination methods actually useful?
I’ve had 13/15 sprout just sticking them right in the coir/soil.
I’m assuming it must make a big difference with older seeds?

Those colors are amazing. I love the red/orange strains a couple people have put up recently.
With the germination thing I should add that the two that didn’t work were from a big bag with a bunch of smaller/underdeveloped ones mixed in. With nice fat seeds they’ve all popped. Not that 15 is really enough to evaluate anything
Do you guys harvest the seeds from the bud fresh or dry?

Oh I didn’t even think about how many must pop out as the bud dries and shrinks up.
When I bought my cbd cheese seeds they did throw in a couple extra and I thought I got hooked up until I noticed they were tiny nitwit seeds.
I guess it’s kind of like sending scratcher tickets with the pack, probably won’t get anything but you never know.
