Those are gonna be so sick. Are they stretching yet??
I need to learn about soil next. Being able to work on a soil for a year or whatever and then just having to water basically from there on out sounds perfect.

Do you guys always cut the leaves in half on clones?
I didn’t do that this time maybe that’s my problem somehow.
Also does rooting gel even make a difference in an aero cloner? I just did a couple double chocolate clones and dipped them in gel but it seems like it’s just gonna wash off ten seconds later. Going right to substrate I could see it helping a ton.

Ok cool guess I need to do some trimming real quick.
For some reason the manifold dried really quick, must’ve left it too exposed one night. Came out to just over an ounce.

I’m curious to see how noticeable the difference in dry time is. Somebody mentioned a contraption called wedry so I checked out the site and most of the reviews were along the lines of “took my dry time from 12 days down to 5, awesome time saver!”
I had gone in assuming it maintained conditions to guarantee 10 days or something like that.
I’m thinking about trying to cure a few grams in a half pint jar with an lc lid on it and not burping it. Seems like the syringe filter should provide ge.

Yeah I figured it should at least absorb a little bit, and then having it in the water getting sprayed onto the stems can’t hurt.
My cloner is basically just the collars to hold the cuttings but without the lid in between them, just dangling over the water. Then I put the whole thing in a slightly larger tub with the lid on so it’s super humid inside instead of using a dome.
I think I’ll try dipping one in gel and sticking it in coir and see what’s quicker.

Wow man that’s like my dream yard. Love the San pedros.
How much do you think those tops from the LWG weighed?? That’s an insane amount of bud.
After trimming my cake plants I’ve started paying attention to people pictures and I’m pretty sure they’ve gotta be some of the worst to trim. The buds just seem to have so many more leaves than other types.
This is my makeshift cloner. It’s the bottom of a gallon jug filled with water and a couple air stones, and then a piece of foam split down the middle to hold the cuttings.
Then I put the lid on the tub to keep it humid, and it’s got mono type holes in the sides.

Do you guys have problems with the stems curving up? I think I’m taking too small cuttings for the most part.

I did wonder about the light. Normally the roots are underground in the dark but then I’ve had great results in a clear jar by a window.
It makes sense though because in nature if a stick breaks off into a puddle or grows down to the dirt it’ll root while being in full sun. I think moisture is the main thing but who knows.

@AKA Yea man the sativas take way more time to trim with their million pencil thin leaves. The indica colas go much faster no cap.
I like your floating cloner foam. You might need to get a dark opaque plastic so the roots can form in darkness. IME you don't need a humidity dome for hydro cloning since the cutting has unlimited access to water.
I've tried three different styles of cloning machine and this one stood out significantly. High quality materials and packaging, basic replaceable parts, fast and strong roots. Same cost as a pack of seeds; totally worth it. https://www.amazon.com/Hydrofarm-OX20SYS-oxyCLONE-Recirculating-Propagation/dp/B01HGME97E/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=oxy+cloner&qid=1629364798&sr=8-5
That thing looks really nice. Is it the same thing with airstones inside or is there some extra stuff that helps?

I think any pest control method that doesn’t kill absolutely everything will eventually become less effective.
Like where I’m at we have to use a specific or novel poison for rats because populations will become immune to a certain chemical over a couple generations.
I know with bacteria sanitizer is bad because it kills 99.5% which leaves the .5% that happened to have some sort of resistance left to reproduce.
There’s probably some similar bizarre process natures come up with in bug populations too.
Time to get my bugbee on.
My plant training looks so much better this round.

Lol just like mush cult!
I figured weed would’ve been mastered by now for sure, but I guess there’s always new stuff to figure out.
Some freshly jarred lcxcn nuggets.

For some reason I hated trimming but really enjoyed popping the buds off the branches.

The jars with vinegar and soap work surprisingly well.
I had a massive infestation after transplanting with new soil, there was literally like a cloud of gnats if I bumped a pot.
I ended up putting two jar traps under each plant and hanging sticky strips on both sides of the space. Took about a week but they disappeared, and then I let the soil dry out just to make sure.
Super gross though, especially the fly paper that was almost black from being so covered.
Finally found a use for my super long tweezers I bought over a year ago for mush cult, picking dead gnats out of the trichomes.
Yet another reason I’m loving coir.

What do you guys think would happen if you grew a plant that was big enough to put out like 4oz, and then cut off everything but a couple branches.
Would it just make a few enormous buds or would they be close to the size they would’ve been anyway?
I’m thinking about stripping half of one of my plants down to just the top buds to compare how they grow next to the other half that’s just lollipopped like normal.

A few hours made them start to wilt?? Damn I figured they’d be ok for a minute, good to know.
Yeah I think this round I need to do some experiments with pruning.
Anybody ever ordered from real seed co?
Just got some Laos and Afghan landrace seeds so hopefully they’re legit. Seems ok from the quick search I did on them.

Its weird how strong my lcxcn in coir is compared to the soil ones. Its been huge the whole time, even the seed was big, so idk if it’s just a robust plant or if being in coir with good conditions has made a difference.
But my other ones fell over even from smaller buds, while this one has way bigger ones and had no problem supporting them even growing horizontally.

Would be perfect to clone except the flower period. I’m in week 14 now and still have lots of white pistils.
How does the pruning look on this one? I stripped a little higher than my first plants but I think it’s about right.

Easily gonna be my largest plant so far by at least double. I’m kinda worried I’m gonna have to bolt the light to the ceiling after it stretches, Ive only got maybe six more inches I can raise it right now.

Ok awesome thanks.
Yeah it’s a clone, I was surprised how different it is than working with a seed plant. It looks like the buds will grow differently on it, more of a solid cola instead of symmetrical chunks with space between them.
lol I did top it a ton of times, it got pretty thick fast. I am thinking about trying a net but I’d have to rig something up like a square board under the plant the net attached to so I can move the whole thing.
With the light right now I’ve got it hanging from a shelf in the closet and there’s like six inches of room left, but I can hang it from the ceiling and that’ll give me probably two more feet. I wish I had a bigger flowering space so I could just train the plant to spread out instead of up but i have three plants right now so I’ve gotta try and maximize the 2x4 and go vertical. This time.
Thanks for taking the time to circle those spots too, what to strip off is probably the area I’m working on the most right now.

Oh wow man you’ve got a ton of little plants going on those shelves.
That flower tent is beautiful. How many plants is it?
The one I’m waiting on to finish that’s starting it’s 14th week looks similar to those buds in your tent. Do you harvest at that stage usually before all the pistils go dark and recede?

Lol what is she calling moose knuckles? At the end when the little knobs swell out of the bud?

This plant does have a totally different bud structure than the other lcxcn. Way less pistils and even since they were just starting they’ve had big pointy calyx. Significantly frostier too.

Then there’s the runt plant just starting to get its moose knuckles

Is there any reason growing in coir would make them take longer? These two are the only coir photos and are both three week behind the soil plants. Then I did one auto in soil and once in coir and the coir again took much longer.

Yeah same nutrients.
What do you look for as far as signs of being over fed?
I’m almost positive the burnt tips are from my tap water, but then it could also be covering up tip burn from nutrients.
My coir auto looked like it had N toxicity even though it hadn’t had grow nutrients in months. Apparently there’s N in calmag which I had been using decent amounts of; and also in the tap water possibly. So I cut the calmag by like 80% the past couple weeks.

See that’s what’s weird to me, the later flowering recipe has no grow/N in it so it hasn’t had significant amounts of nitrogen through feeding in like six weeks.
I also only feed it at like .6 EC.
I was thinking maybe the coir was drying out too much and concentrating the nutrients but it stays wet and consistently takes the same amount to get run off each day.
I guess I should probably run one with only filtered water to see how much of the issue that is.
It’s starting to turn purple now so hopefully that’s a sign it’s finishing up. Gonna be at least a 15 week flower at this point.
