Nothing. Spontaneous cloning event, I was just topping and they were huge and I said let's plant em. Don't know much about accepted cloning practices I've been reading up on more immediate stuff and then the opportunity presented itself

Ripped the lower leaves off and stabbed 1"-2" of stem on each in same soil mix I have others in.

I watched a video where a guy was using honey. I don't know if it works or how it works. I haven't tried to clone yet.

I wonder what would happen if you tried to clone an autoflower?

it'll work but you gotta time it right. my clones tend to rot from too much water

I have used aloe myself. It took a little longer but the roots it formed were very nice looking in contrast to the others w out aloe. I typically just use the white powder from the nUrsery, but i was considering switching to gaba powder. Theres a vet grower from an old website who suggested it and ive been meaning to try it out. Aloe is solid though, im def into it. Do you soak your freshly cut clones in a cup of water enhanced w aloe juice prior to fixing up your coco/peat/whatnot cups?

I typically just use coco w some light nutrient solution and a dash of myco powder. I let this stew/sit for a few hours until i set up the containers and drop the cut clones into place. While im waiting i soak the fresh cuts in a cup of very light nutrient solution.

The guy i mentioned above, w the gaba powder, also suggested doing a mouth suck of the freshly cut ends, to clear out any possible air that could cause an embolism... do any of you do a suck on your cuts? This was the first ive seen/heard of it, ive been doing it and its hard to say whats working better... im seeing better results than the simple method i use to use, but there are many factors which could be to blame. The sucking may or may not be one of them  thoughts?

I pretty much do what this guy does...

https://www.dudegrows.com/aloe-cloning/

I usually go into rockwool
or whatever little plugs I have available, but coco works.

I have never seen anyone suck air out.
Not saying it doesnt help, but I've never had a problem not doing it. Seems time consuming, especially if you're doing a few hundred cuts at a time like I'm used to.

Have you done it? I would assume that auto clones would still flower at the same time as their mother plant since they are exact copies. I havent grown autos though.

They will, no point in cloning autos. The only thing you can do to save the genetics is self a branch with colloidal silver and make seeds.

Couple notes...

If using municipal water, its good to filter it. I use one of these.

And don't underestimate the power of mulch, especially outside. Not only will you preserve water, but it will allow mycelium to thrive on the surface of the soil that would otherwise be dry. Rice hulls work great for pots.

Tops...

....Most are in Fox Farm Lucky Dog (cheap), some are in Roots Organics (preferable).

I've been using all dry amendments. I like worm castings, bio-char, alfalfa meal, rock dust, guanos, insect frass, etc... And I always plant with some mycorrhizae (mykos works but there are others).

I also foliar feed with fresh aloe (you can buy it powdered if you don't have it fresh). Horsetails and stinging nettle are also good for foliar, and probably other plants I dont know about...

My yard is partially shaded so I don't have to worry about that. If you're going in 25 gallon pots and your plants are hardy, though, I don't think the heat will hurt them much.

The Roots soil you're using....is it their "original" soil, or one of the others? Is it doing the job well lol :strokebeard: ? I'm still debating between what soil I'm going to go with...If I can find the Roots "Green Fields" soil locally I'll likely go with that depending on the price, but the place I was at today only had the roots "original" soil.

I'm also thinking about going with this "Empire Builder" by Sanctuary Soil, 1/2 yard for $85 >>

http://sanctuarysoil.com/empire-builder/

Coco coir, sphagnum peat moss, composted forest product, worm castings, coco chips, lava rock, pumice, perlite, gypsum, langbeinite, sea bird and bat guano, fish bonemeal, feather meal, bonemeal, limestone, greensand, alfalfa meal, kelp meal, glacial rock dust, azomite, soybean meal, and rice bran.

Fortunately I do have an aloe plant, I'm going to start foliar feeding with that as well as some mild tea. I'm using Dr. Earth brand fertilizer...organic, and I'm pretty sure their entire line contains mycorrhizae/probiotics .

I plan on getting my plants into their final home this upcoming week...I ended up going with 20 gallon fabric pots. That'll be sufficient for what I'm aiming for and figured I'd save a lil $ on soil & what not. Once they're in the large pots I'm going to get some cages and bamboo to start opening them up & training them a bit.

They've started to increase in their rate of new growth over the past week, basically since around the solstice...but I can imagine they're going to really take off over this next month once they get settled into their new homes.

I'll finally get around to taking some pics soon.

Why are u guys spending so much on soil ? use a local compost or berger bm 1 and cutting edge nutrients are bar none the best nutes on the market especially geared towards what u are using them for and there cheap which is a added bonus

Also with autos u can cellular tissue culture and keep the strain viable without the problems of "cloning" . In other words with each culture you are starting over at day 1  and will have veg growth . Another option is just let them over mature and they will produce flowers and polinate themselves and create 75percent female seeds with most of the dominate traits of the parent

Soil is a one time purchase, it can be reused over and over. Those bottled liquid nutrients you recommended are much more expensive than the dry amendments I use.

When growing in a backyard, tissue culture isnt exactly an option.

If ur trying to go all organic or watever make ur own soil look up tga supersoil but its still way cheaper  to go with the cutting  edge nutes and berger bm1 soil hell it would only be 150 total cost for the season and the way ur doing it the soil is 85 bucks alone not counting additives and ur still gonna have to have some sorta extra liquid nutes cause chances are unless ur a soil scientist all the goodies in the soil u bought and dry additives wont be readily available to ur babies to well after the first season has ended and most the time the nutrients will be embalanced so wont produce optimum growth rates
