Probably 2 days left.
I've only been doing like 1/4lb to 1/3rd of a pound a day, that's about the most I can get through in a day before my back & neck & hands start to get sore & tight (this is the first year that my hands have actually become sore from trimming). Have taken a few days off, but basically been at it for the past 3 weeks.

.
Fucking same. So god damn close to the end and I can't even. I'm never growing big plants for free again.

Sounds like you don't need more edibles
Just throw shake or bud in a pot on the stove top with water and butter. Simmer for an hour or so, strain through a strainer (I use cheese cloth too to get all the small bits out) put in fridge and wait for butter to solidify, then break butter off of the surface and pour the water out.
It amazes me how complicated people have made working with cannabis. I feel like in the past decade a bunch of engineers with unlimited budgets and time have taken over and needlessly complicated everything.
Hehe. You should have seen it. Fun fact, cutting boards turn into hot glue sticks at about 260. So you donβt decarb? Iβve found a noticeable difference in my end product from decarb vs not but itβs worth a shot. Iβm happy to throw a little more than normal at it. I generally make batches with 2 oz of flower and 2 sticks of butter. Then I make a 3x batch of rice crispy treats using all the butter but follow the box directions for the other ingredients. Then cut each one into 30gram pieces that contains 1 gram of flower in them each. I recommend people eat a small piece or at most half then see where they are at. I eat one to go to bed and 2 to get weird.
My ex had a talent for leaving plastic cutting boards on the stove. She got real mad when I made a no cutting boards on the stove rule, then conceded when she did it again a couple of weeks later.
I don't bake my pot before making butter. My results are still extremely potent and go through a heating process anyway. I see no point in extra steps. It's not something I'm interested in fucking with seeing as I already give way too much time to growing and processing cannabis. This is my last year growing big plants anyway, I'm not doing this shit for free anymore.

Which is why I use the water method to ensure I do not go above boiling. I tend to keep it at a simmer to get the best results.

Lava rock. Crushed red lava rock works a treat for just what you're describing.

I've used both HID and LED and I will never use anything besides LED again. Incredibly healthy plants, dense buds, great canopy penetration low heat, low power bill, no bulbs, no external ballast.
Sure they went through growing pains (ugh, blurples) but LED lights are all grown up now.

I completely agree on growth pattern power bills no bulbs but Iβd debate the penetration part but that depends on the lights. I think a 1000 will give better penetration but would say below that your LEDs just take over now a days.
I have. I've seen them exceed 1000 HPS. The LED buds are often far more dense than the HPS, they aren't giant and fluffy but they sure outweigh them. Dig around in some professional grows that use LEDs instead of hobbiests like here and most other forums. When people have millions invested and on the line and chose to go LED, there's good reasons.

The operations I see predominately use LED for veg and run HIDβs in there flowering rooms hung higher up, but thereβs exceptions and Iβm out west powers cheap. I watch growers network often on YouTube they visit lots of large scale operations in various states and most the time when they go into the flowering rooms I see HIDβs. Best I can tell.
Chosen I have old coil ballasts that still run from the 90βs, only every replaced one inigtor on a HID ballast.</font>
I live in Oregon and have worked on professional operations. The lighting of choice for flowering that I saw was LED. Not everyone is using them, but most of the large operations I have seen at this point are using them.

Me either.
I honestly wouldn't buy any used cannabis equipment.
But get the CMH over the HPS.

I've got an HLG 135w redspec Quantum in a 2x2 and It's a teaspoon full of sunshine. Ridiculously dense nugs if I keep the light too low.

Up here in NW Oregon there's always been better local weed than what we could get from norcal. That's just where we went to work in late summer-fall. I'll admit that the quality of pot in the area drastically dropped when it went legal in 2015. Before that your reputation was everything, and we were more that saturated with excellent growers. Now the best weed is traded between hobby growers.

Oh word trimming is finally done!
I had a talk with myself about not getting paid and stop it. Just connoisseur trimmed the top buds and threw the rest in gallon ziplocks. Free is free, ain't anyone complaining.
I'm excited to be free of giant plants next year. Just going to pop some seeds june first and throw them in ten gallons. No special care, you make it on your own or you die
I'm never letting pot cut into my deer season like that again.

Best weed I ever smoked was grown by a kid from Oregon. He was in this group called SHARP. Skinheads against racial prejudice. This was 2001. He made it seems as though they had an underground grow culture with strains they didnβt share and shit. Not sure but the kid could flat out grow and the two strains he had were number one and number two on my all time favorite list. Better than anything I smoked for the 5 years I lived in SF.
I probably hung out with him. That was back when we still had a lot of nazis on the street in Portland and the punks and sharps had to team up to get rid of them.
He was right, we did have an underground thing and we didn't share strains. If you got your hands on something unique and awesome it was only shared with trusted growers. We didn't want amoral people taking advantage of honest people's hard work.

Yup. I'm not even fond of fresh bud that's ready. I like a good eight week cure at 63% RH in a sealed mason jar.

If I absolutely have to chop early due to weather or security, I throw it out. No interest at all in bud that's not finished. Since I'm not selling it really carries no value to me.

Though I am an Organic soil builder, I can see the merits in both styles.
Like OM I really enjoy building a soil using any local ingredients I can. This involves grabbing glacial dust from the upper sandy river by old maid flats, humic duff from the forest, poop of various herbivores, ect. A lot of this I don't make special trips for, I just grab it when I'm out doing other activities like foraging or hunting. However, I recognize that my access to these things is a privilege afforded me by proximity to these natural areas and access to public lands. I don't grow large scale for commercial purposes, just a hobbiest that grows for family a friends for free.
Were I living in an urban area, especially on the east coast, and had to keep a small business going on a budget there would be a lot of appeal to the powdered chem nutes. I personally do not use chem nutes, but I understand why Icon does.
Ultimately my organic style might have slightly less impact on the environment, but honestly not by an extreme amount.
to you both.

I totally buy ingredients to pep up the mix. Lots of DTE and Dr earth. By no means are my mixes purely foraged. I definitely use alaska fish emulsion to give the plants a big vege boost.
I want to give mineral nutes a go just once for the experience as well, just to say I did if nothing else.
