As far as banks go my favorites are Great Lakes Genetics, JBC seeds, and DC seed exchange. I usually order from GLG because it's local.

I clone with rooting plugs or coco perlite in a cell tray with a dome. I've been getting 100% success rates since I started bleaching the trays between rounds and adding 3 or so drops of bleach to each quart of water I use to soak the plugs/coco. My last round I got 25/25 to root. I also root tomatoes, haskaps, kiwi vines, and goji berries this way.

Damn. The seed popped out randomly out of a female last year. No signs that anything was pollinated, and just one seed. Was hoping it'd be female.
Was hoping this one would at least be a herm, I gave away a bunch of seeds once that a friend gave me from a herm and all kinds of wacky shit came out of those seeds. My one buddy germinated 52 of them and they all had 2x seedlings pop out that were super symmetrical.
When a seed pops twins like that, there is a chance that one of the seedlings will be genetically identical to the mother plant.

There is a lot of speculation as to which spectrum works best for this purpose, and you'll find people all over the map.
UVB was pretty popular for a while, but can burn the shit out of your plants. UVA can pretty much be left on all day, but whether or not it does anything is a topic of debate at this point.
There was some growers doing testing on lights with near-uv in the spectrum, around 420nm, and they found increased cannabinoid and terpene levels under these lights compared to similar LEDs. Near uv is also not as bad for your eyes as uva or uvb, but sunglasses should still be worn in the grow room regardless.

Search up "scale insect", I'm pretty sure that's what that is. I had some on my kumquats years ago, they were never a big issue.

I'm looking for some advice. i have grown all kinds of things however i've never grown the maryjane...why? i can't remember anyway, i have aquired a couple autoflower white widow seeds and have the goal of just growing one plant, kept short and get at least say two ounces of good bud.
that said, what is recommended for giving this lovely lady the right nutes become beautiful? is there an all in one beginners solution? or do i need to get individual like say blood meal for nitrogen? or...would the experienced say NEVER USE BLOODMEAL! lol. what should i put together to feed this girl?
total beginner. any suggestions to get going appreciated.
First decision to make is organic or ionic. Nutrient salts are about as cheap as it gets when you buy the 25 lb bags, but locally sourced organic amendments can be affordable as well, especially if you are growing/foraging dynamic accumulators for homemade earthworm castings and reusing your soil.
Espoma makes tomato tone, garden tone, and a few other organic amendment blends that work pretty well when used with a base soil consisting of peat moss, perlite or rice hulls, earthworm castings, dolomite and gypsum. A little insect frass would really help the soil food web develop as well.
Also, keep in mind if you are running organics, a mulch layer can be very helpful in preventing evaporation and proving a steady supply of nutrients.

Generally the more plants the better. Shorter veg time, larger gene pool to select from, etc. The only downsides are additional labor, materials, and seed cost.
If you're still learning, more plants also gives you room to experiment without risking your entire crop.

Towns77 said: Anybody ever clone an autoflower?
I cloned a Blueberry auto flower about two months back. I managed to get a tiny cutting off of her early into flowering. It's crammed into a tiny bonsai pot,and it gets a way irregular light schedule, but all in all should make for great smoke despite it's small stature, haha! This was just a novelty grow too, by the way.

Now, here is a clone from that clone. I'll baby this one and see if I can get it bigger, and then I'll try for yet another clone.

I'm going to see how long I can keep it up!
You guys have any auto clone pics, and or tips?
Best tip I can give for cloning autos is to look into micropropagation, aka tissue culture.

Take every possible precaution or you will end up with seeds. Filter your intakes, exhaust your male or pollination tent outside with negative pressure, work in the flower tent before the pollination tent, etc.

You shouldn't need one. Plants are excellent humidifiers.

I can work with that. But I need more than 6 so still an outlaw.
It's more of an engineering problem. Ideally you could build a grow room that can fit each plant in its own 4x4 area, with side lighting around the plants. There's a thread over at riu with a setup like that, "40+ lbs with 12 Plants in 2 Rooms on a Flip"
It does severely limit pheno hunting and the ability to keep mothers, but you could also do a grafted bonsai mother if you were so inclined.

I actually did some digging trying to find the most "legit" source of romulan seeds. The guy Jay at Next Gen Seed Co. says he has a cutting of the original Romulan strain from the 90s that he uses to make seeds. He's won some awards for his strains so I have high hopes.
Dookie farms has a cut, kind of pricey though.

If I'm going to be defoliating a lot I like to juice the leaves. The juice is really strong, but you can dilute it with carrots and apples or take it like a wheatgrass shot.

Don't use peroxide for gnats, Bt is what you want. Mosquito dunks or gnatrol are good options.
Edit: and some sticky traps for the adults, the cheap fly ribbons work but can get messy.

I do a 12 hour soak then plant directly into plugs/rooters/cell tray with coco perlite, I rarely have germ issues with this method.
Could be a seed age or storage issue as well.

I keep all my seeds in a large tupperware filled with rice with a desiccant pack in the fridge. It's been a few years since I popped or bought any, and I'm not sure how viable they all are as some of them are 10+ years old, but I'm glad I put them in the fridge when I did.

Buy some mids?? Wtf!!

It's not an uncommon problem, breeding for potency largely produces high thc cultivars, while the majority of people are not heavy enough users to necessitate such dankness.
The solution is to find extra terpy ~20% thc strains, or perhaps even a 1:1 CBD strain. Mixed ratio strains like that are actually super chill daytime smoke, I ran one with about 15% CBD and 10% THC for many years.
