Pinching work quite well, or rolling the stem between your fingers, or weights/tying down. Lots of ways to train a plant. IMO the #1 best "training" for a plant indoors is an oscillating fan.

When they grow one way I turn them the other way or take clones. I have done a few like this outdoors in buckets it. It can really help spread a canopy. When you'r growing on a deck in a suburban environment and your plants are higher than the deck, turn them on their side Of course you have to water right side up. These plants are mothers they will be chopped continuously to make clones.

Nice view ya got there!
lets hear them why is it best to do it your way? With another 2 months of veg they will not care at all that they spent a few days on their side. I posted to share a picture. I appreciate you trying to help, but this ain't my first rodeo. Indoor or out. This simple little trick is just another tool. It would be nice to know why it is " bad for many reasons" ( its not natural is BS). It has been 20 hours since i turned them on their side 6 of them they were sleeping.

I watered them/ gave them their first feeding. Than put them back in and turned them the other direction. In another 24-48 hours i will post pics of lower branches. -plants are 23 days old.

Yes I have 18 E.novos now. In a few different growing conditions.I had my post moved to the above to theEthnobotanical Grow Logs and Pictures sub-forum. Most are in bags.I wanted to see how a few could handle the fan. They are smaller then the others but alive and relatively happy.
I hate that pictures are so fuckin dreadful to look at when those LED are on.

Wow someone is butt-hurt that I have pictures and proof, while you have nothing except he said she said BS. I' am trying to be civil. just let it be.
No reason for this this to be a pissing match. I will do only what you lords of cannabis say in the future. Anyway this is what they look like after less then 48 hours of non-existent light training
And actually I have received basic training from the New York Botanicals gardens and I am professional horticulturist by trade.
This one if for you

I dont see a problem with adding the activated carbon. Is it the same thing as Charcoal ? There are many benefits to charcoal.
I know it is used for bioremediation. At the very least I can see it helping the nutrients you use stay in the general area rather than running off into the water table.

Hey all looking for some people with experience to chime in on transplanting mj at poppy season (4 weeks before last frost)
Whats the earliest you can put an indoor started plant outdoors? I don't mean for best results. I understand all about acclimation.I mean what kind of abuse can cannabis handle at its infancy? Is a single frost going to kill a cannabis seedling? What about a plant on its second or third set of leaves? How old does a plant need to be to handle temps in the mid 30s to 50s?
I have to imagine they are hardier than tropical solanaceae since they don't die right away in the winter.
While going to walk the dog and smoke a j I had time to think about it. Assuming it is just a little bit hardier than tropical sonanacea then this is my theory. A single frost will greatly disturb if not kill all new growth on the plant. One has to grow a plant until the auxiliary branches reach their second set of nodes. At this point a plant will be over a month old and on many sets of leaves.` If/when your plant dies off the second set of nodes should still be able to branch ouch. In this senero I think the resulting plant would still produce a much larger final plant than if one were to sow directly in spring.

This is theoretical, Im thinking gorilla style no luxury of any sort of protection. "If it doesn't kill it it will make it stronger" kinda mentality.
Loph From what i remember(don't quote me) its a mixture of both. But for some reason i remember that they come out photo sensitive and then it shows up (mixed) when you make seeds from that 2nd generation. I'll double check that. It has been years since i bread autos.

So it seems the auto gene is the Dominate gene. The first set of seeds will show a mix. The photos that do show up will carry the ruddy genes in them.
here is a thread that i made a while ago on the growery about the topic.

I have figured seeds run on average $5 each before shipping. Fems are 1-2$ more when you buy them from websites like the attitude. Seeds valued much higher than this are usually just a rip off. The price you paid seems pretty average. If you find someone making their own seeds they usually sell for 1-3$ a piece.

Days are still a bit too short, I think.
I'd expect young plants to go into flowering early if started outdoors with no supplemental lighting at the moment.
I'm not sure where abouts you are/what latitude, IIRC you're somewhere around the east coast....but I've heard a general rule of thumb is to wait until there is about 14 hours of day light. With less than 14 hours of light, most varieties will likely start to flower.
.
I forgot to bring one in yesterday. Im gonna leave it out.
