Please repost wwhat you consider your best post of the day so far, in this thread.
What was your message, did it work out?
Lets make a post consisting solely of what the authors themselves consider their best posts of the day.
This is not an ego thing, its OK to be happy about a post you made.
Quote:
EGO DEATH vs EHO DISSOLUTION vs "KILLING THE EGO"
Straight up -
If you want to kill the ego, a lobotomy is the way to go. Without a genuine ego, functioning as a dynamic human being is not possible.
Spiritual people distort the concept of Ego to be something negative, confusing it with being egotistical, with imposing self centered demands on the world around you.
Ego.exe is one of the essential components of the operating system of your brain. Saying you want to kill that is like deleting the System32 directory in windows - the whole thing seizes up.
Ego (and things like anxiety) makes a great servant, but an atrocious Master.
I have experienced the final run of progressively more intense Ego Death squences that comes with transitioning of the mind into the Transpersonal realm. (terms from the cartography of the mind as by Stanislav Grof)
When the Ego dies, the boundaries of the Self dissolve, or rather, encompass your environment. The whole room you are in, or the whole universe if you do it under the stars, becomes part of your body. I truly wish that experience upon everyone.
And then your ego boots up again, you separate out from the whole and are little you again.
That is a blessing, because there is no such thing as frying an egg when you are "Everything", you are in a vegetative state, you are Being, rather than Doing. A human has to Do, lest they end up on the chronic ward in some hospice.
Ego death is a lot more than a state to view yourself objectively, if we are not talking ego dissolution but actual ego death.
In the process of genuine ego death your ego is annihilated on every level of your mind, an experience that is as authentically threatening to the ego as biological death.
With ego dissolution (which unfortunately is what almost everyone who thinks they had ego death, has) you could say that your ego goes on screensaver, but with ego deatth, the ego actually reboots, it shuts down completely and then back on.
In this boot sequence your ego is first violently pulled away from every system of your mind - immensely threatening - then when it boots up again it reconnects again with all those systems, and in doing so it reconnects in a less buggy, less defective way than before, you have higher integration.
The screensaver vs reboot analogy fits. If your computer is lagging and glitching, screensaver (ceasing to use your ego so it goes dormant) is not going to do a thing for you. The moment you hit the mouse, your computer is still laggy and glitchy. What you need is a reboot (switching the ego off and on) so that everything reconnects anew from the ground up.
After ego loss, you had a meaningful experience. After ego death, you are irreversibly and meaningfully changed on every level because your ego has reconnected with every aspect of your mind's architecture in the way that corresponds with the design plan of the mind and your current state of psychological integration. You no longer are glitching and lagging on issues long since resolved but never truly worked out of your system.
Whether you do it by meditation, therapeutic technique or entheogens, if you manage to disuse your ego for long enough it slips into screensaver, it goes dormant. An interesting vantage point but no more.
If you however have made giant strides in your psychological and spiritual growth to the point of the old you no longer being compatible with the new you in a *fundamental* way, then your higher self will pick a suitable moment and trigger an Ego Death experience, to blow your ego's house down to its foundations and then rebuild it stone by stone from scratch - what you then have is a paradigm shift and a lasting strong change in improved functioning.
There's free complimentary Ego Dissolutions in every cup of ayahuasca if you play your spiritual cards right, but sad fact is that the great majority of people in meditation, or even who take high dose psychedelics for decades, havent even begun the true Ego Death process.
Spiritually, first you fix your life traumas, then you fix your perinatal traumas surrounding life in the womb and the birth trauma, then with Ego Death you shatter the border between Life and Death and from them on you are in the Transpersonal realm as a ground state of your mind, your mind is no longer confined to the limits this incarnation of you imposes.

People love to complain about millenials but I never hear much about how things got fucked up for us in the first place. Atleast there’s hope for millenials though, we’re young yet, baby boomers only have time left to reflect on their shame.

Focus on your socks and shoes and what to put on first. Stimulating topic, dumb down the shroomery.
