Why is that? I’ve read from experienced growers that doing myco work in a carpeted room or room with linens near the work station is more of a vector of contamination, which would make sense as fabrics can harbor all sorts of contaminants.
Why would a kitchen be any worse? Counters can be wiped with a surface cleaner, fans off with doors closed should make for less of a draft since kitchens are typically more open rooms than bedrooms/offices/closets
It shouldn't matter as long as your procedure is on point. Kitchens tend to have moldy fruits and vegetables in them and bathrooms tend to be really humid

I have done all my work in a living room or bedroom. kitchens are dirty even when clean little food scraps under your stove and fridge, debris from foods sourced from all over the country/world. same with a bathroom, more skin flakes and hair floating around with good technique you can use a SAB anywhere though really.

Mine is as well, but if we’re gonna make a claim like that I’d just like to hear the reasoning behind it. I was using my SAB for the past year in a shitty 20 year old apartment in a small carpeted room with super drafty windows and two dogs running amok and all my tubs fruiting two feet away. We both already know we can grow shrooms with minimal work.
But now that I moved I’ve been doing everything solely in the kitchen. I wanna hear what bod has to say

Y’all must not clean up after yourselves very well or eat like dogs if you have moldy stuff around and scraps of food everywhere.
What i’m getting at is, if a kitchen or bathroom is clean and the same conditions as another room, there is no saying that any one is better than the other. Saying shit like that makes noobs think they won’t be able to use an SAB because the bathroom or kitchen is the only area they have to do that. It’s better than trying to attempt some open air inoculation with bleach on everything

I've done open air in a lysoled out bathroom. Best grow I ever did. We're talking g2g and everything.
At this house I use a sab in a half Ass sealed room and you know the problems I've had.

most bathrooms are too small to work in. and even a clean kitchen is still the dirtiest room in your home. I like the living room because there's a huge table. every bathroom I've had would be cramped as fuck.

The first PF grow I did when I came back was done open air with lysol sprayed everywhere. Did it in my bedroom on a nightstand with a dust mask and a bic lighter

To describe this house... first off no pets besides a reptile my living room is right next the dining room and connects to the kitchen.
Prep work on the dining room table since everyone eats in their own room anyways and the adjoined rooms are cleaned daily by yours truly.
Inoculation in the "bleach room"
Incubation on a bedroom closet shelf now since its where I get best results on the agar jars I spread out.
Seems we have an element of trial and error.
