i'd say she's toast man. on rare occasions i've had shit kind of like that not go green but never such a huge patch. i'd toss that thing. or at least set it outside in the shade and watch it for the next few days.

That's toast. I'm surprised there's no obvious gross smell. Every time i see that it sort of smells like the sweeter version of nail polish remover

That doesn't look like bacteria.  To me it looks like aerial mycelium that's mashed down characterized by presence of individual strains.  Bacteria would be more bunched up and shiny.  IMO, wax paper is encouraging both aerial mycelium, as well as, it's "mashed down" appearance.

OP, consider ditching the wax paper, and increasing fresh air for a few days before snappingly deciding to toss that substrate.  Wax paper isn't even necassary and is causing thwarting of moisture evaporation from, and high co2 at your substrate's surface.

I beg to differ, but meh.  Nobody is perfect.  Would be interesting to see what the update has in store.  If that's mold, it will have definitely changed color by now.

This is what it looks like before it gets as bad as OPs pictures. Doesn't change color even after a week

I've seen thousands of substrates first hand.  I know what an outbreak of mold looks like before it sporulates.

What do you think about OP update?

Even after a light misting. Still smell just fungi?

Not earth or basement or when its bsd. What bod was saying. An almost chemical kind of smell
