smart TV or HDMI TV?

Looking to use my Amazon Prime benefits so I'd need a TV. Should I go for a smart TV or a TV with HDMI to use an Amazon Fire stick or Google Chromecast instead? I'm assuming if I get a smart TV that would be more "direct" without using the Amazon Fire stick, plus doesn't a smart TV usually have HDMI already in case I'd want a Fire stick in the future?

yup thats true to the very end. smart tv just has the capabilities to use voice automation then the internet applications that come with netflix, webbrowser all the tvs should have hdmi hookups in particular so yea a smart tv has that also
i think in terms of size and gaming monitor get 24 inch or higher any size tahts good for playing an old school first person shooter would suffice for me
so im saying size just does matter that much for me sinc ei sit so up close to it and everything but every now and then i want to see things from afar then im like switching to a different computer just to have it play primarily media or things from the tube swiftly

Depends on your needs and what you intend to use it for. A lot of smart TVs have Chromecast built into them now and you can directly cast youtube to them from your computer as long as your on the same home network on both devices. Its a useful feature but I found I barely use any of that stuff myself. The Netflix/Hulu apps on the TV themselves is useful but you got to use the controller for the TV to use them and most people never touch those after you set up your cable box remote to work the TV. Honestly I just prefer to use my PS3 or PS4 for Netflix myself since I have the media remotes for those systems.
Also if you have Xfinity, Netflix is built into your cable box now. Like I said it all comes down to how you use your media.

HDTV has no wifi for the most part, right? A smart TV actually cost about the same as an HDTV. If not, HDTV cost a few dollars more. Not sure why that is.

That's all nice but I don't have a TV. Is what you're saying is if I do have a TV, must it be an HDTV and must I have those video game consoles you mentioned? I have none of those which is why I'm deciding if I should get a smart TV to utilize my Amazon prime membership.

yea usually when you get a huge tv but any monitor will play a firestick you could save more money and all that but
smart tvs can be not so smart just spend what you wanna spend if your just gunna pair with firestick
truly a lot of choice say a nintendo switch or ps4 but those are consoles that ive never owned
somehow though if you get jammed on a smart tv it does seem to work not to mention that theres a lot of frustration and the control nature so pair it up with one you own and youll figure it out

If you have a laptop or computer with HDMI out you can use it as an HTPC. It's the modern equivalent to pirate cable boxes.

Any modern TV is going to have HDMI and is likely to be "smart."
If it's NOT smart, its very simple to add Apple TV, a firestick, Roku, etc.
I'd recommend you focus on the TV, because the quality of the "smart" features can vary. For example, streaming Netflix through my blu-ray player is more pleasant than streaming it directly through my TV. Similarly, streaming Pandora through the blu-ray is better than streaming it through my stereo receiver.

I hope it's not one of those Chinese products that works only when it wants to work.

NSA only mattered if you gave a shit about NSA. Hack on!
But doesn't the HDMI TV not have a wifi connectivity? TV with wifi is what I need to use my Amazon Prime.

Haven't seen it but I'll look. Are these usually sold as HDMI TV? So do I plug a firestick or chromecast into its USB input?
