I then took a B+ clone that grew on agar and transferred it out 3 times, ending up with this.

I have been using Pastywhite's no pour tek in glass 1/2 pint jars with SFDs instead of lids. A little cumbersome, but I am getting used to it and haven't had many contams show on my agar dishes while the myc is growing out.
I used Bod's EAF Grain tek and messed it up the fist time and they were too wet to begin with. This time I started with 7 Oat jars that I prepped much drier than my first attempt, before I put the grain in jars I put my strainer over a fan, stirring occasionally, until the husks of the grain were dry.

Then I PC'd them for two hours at 15-17 PSI, never below 15. Here they are a few days after being inoculated with that and a couple more agar wedges in a SAB.

Fast forward about a week and a half and this is what I'm working with:

From what I have seen, the clone I'm working with is pretty aggressive and takes things over more quickly than all of the other B+ myc I have been working with (all came from a buddy's LC that seems pretty questionable at this point with the amount of contams I've dealt with.
Yesterday, I prepared a brick of coir. I used Bod's bucket tek with a similar cooler to keep things hot. I used 2.25 quarts of boiling water, as I was going for the drier side of field capacity. This seems to have worked very well, the coir has a good moisture content without being overly moist, which I have also messed up in the past by putting 3 or 4 quarts of water and not squeezing it out...wayyyy to wet IMO, the myc had a hard time that time.
Once the coir cooled down I shook my jars and emptied them into 3 unmodified containers. One is a shoebox and two are clear 20qt Sterlite containers. I used a 1:1 ratio in hopes of fast colonization. They are now in a closet with 12 on 12 off lighting with the lids on but not locked down.

It has been less than 12 hours and I already see recovery on the grains
Just moving this post from my journal so other people can chime in.
Thanks,

Definitely colonizing a lot faster than all of my previous failed attempts. Not sure if it is the clone, drier grains and coir, or a combo. My first attempts were pretty damn wet...live and learn.

I just read comebackkid's post about surface conditions and decided to do a very fine mist over the top to add just a touch of moisture to the mix. Got some small water droplets now.

Yeah that's a great thread but just remember you want those beads to dry up before you add more beads.

Just a super fine mist. Now I'm going to leave them alone for a few days.

Good luck bruh!
Keep up the FAE.
Don't let it dry out.
Handle it like a boss!

All tubs are looking close to 100% colonization at this point and the sides are just about filled in, but there are still some areas that need some growth. I still have tiny water droplets all over the myc.
I think I am going to wait until I see some pins to flip the lids for FAE this time.

So here we are on day 7. I think I will put these into fruiting conditions today by flipping my lids. I know I said I was going to wait, but it seems like evaporation is a key pinning trigger and it looks like things are just about at 100% colonization. Any objections or thoughts on that? How do things look to you guys?
Tub 1:

Tub 2:

Shoebox:

Thanks!
Actually, I think I will do a side by side comparison. I'm going to let one tub consolidate for a few more days. The other tub I am going to open up now. I think I will try about a 1/2 inch casing for the shoebox then leave it shut for a few days to at least partially colonize the casing.

And the one with the lid still closed.

Update day 15:
My shoebox is starting to peek through the top layer of coir I put on at 100%. Looking good so far.
Tub 1 (put into fruiting conditions 8 days ago)
Tub 2 (put into fruiting yesterday)

What do you guys think, do they look all right?
Thanks

Update Day 19:
I definitely have some bruising and major side pinning going on. I still need some work on surface conditions, but this is my first batch to make it this far.
Tub 1: The one I put into fruiting conditions earlier.

Tub 2: The one I put into fruiting conditions about a week later.

The shoebox, which I cased with about 1/4 inch of coir. Which has the biggest fruit so far! But it's on the side, haha.
