I'd go with Deconica coprophila

Yes, but odd gills though. Are they supposed to look like that?

Like you said "it doesn't bruise blue"

That is common in the Deconica coprophila species. Sometimes the gills curl down onto the stipe as well.

I would say this is the dung loving psilocybe. However, I remain skeptical of this species for numerous reasons

It's not a Psilocybe at all.  Not active.  Was thought to be at one time.  That's why it's been renamed to Deconica

I don't think D. coprophila was ever thought to be active. In any case, the separation of the two clades in the former
Psilocybe was based on phylogenetic analysis, and not due to the presence or lack of active compounds per se.
There is even a non-active Psilocybe, P. fuscofulva (syn. P. atrobrunnea).

That was my understanding when I was reading about them 15 years ago. But that was also 15 years ago

Guzman writes "Lamellae broadly adnate to somewhat subdecurrent" (The Genus Psilocybe, p. 224)

This is true. The common name still stands though. Strawberries are not berries but rather fruit according to botany. I will still call them strawberries so that everyone knows what I am referring to.

They are a bit more decurrent than usual.  There are a few species described in the Deconica coprophila group based on microscopic differences.  Not sure if Virginia has gotten around to doing phylogenetic analysis on them.  One of the names out there is Deconica subcoprophila, and some other names could be pulled out of The Genus Psilocybe.
