Wouldn't that moreso apply to an actual sgfc? Looks like a 2L pop bottle to me.

Would it make a difference if it were a sgfc or a 2L pop bottle? Thought the objective is to create airflow along the sides of the cake for evaporation to initiate pinning. Just figure by trimming foil it would increase the fae and aid in pinning, but I could be wrong.

Yeah but perlite is most effective when there's holes on the bottom, and the chamber is elevated a few inches off the ground for air to flow. His chamber looks like it has no holes. The perlite in this case isn't providing fae like it does in a sgfc. It's literally just there to attempt to make the air more humid, which id argue is kinda pointless, given a substrate of that size in a small chamber like that would be able to maintain its own humidity, and thus I'm like why bother with the foil?

Here is a pic of the main chamber, the other single cake is just in a 1 gallon jar. I fan about 6-8 times a day, is that not enough?

You can pack a sgfc full. They work better that way. No need for your gallon jar.

Patience, they will come. My current batch of GT took a while to. A little over 2weeks for first signs and almost another week for some of the other cakes. If you are patient and keep them at optimal conditions, they will come!
