Problem with jars with rye grain

Hello! I have a few questions. Can somebody help me? Thanks a lot!
4 days ago I sterilized rye grain in a pressure cooker. It is my first attempt to rye grain spawn. I don't have any problems with pf tek and mixing brown rice cakes with coir in a monotub.
a. I washed rye grain a few times. b. I left rye grain in a large pot with water for 24 hours. c. I boiled rye grain for 10 minutes. d. I strained them so that they wouldnt leave water on a paper towel. e. I loaded rye grain into 8 jars. 3/4 volume f. I pressured cook jars for 90 minutes. g. I was waiting couple of hours to make jars cooled down. h. In SAB I added shredded brown rice cakes to jars. i. Today I saw blue mold in jars and mycelium stopped growing. Probably its dead by contam
First question 1: Maybe when I put rye grain to jars the grain had too much water? Here is a photo: https://i.imgur.com/zZTSHKW.jpg
Second question 2: I made a hole in a lid, and cover it with two peaces breathable tape. It is ok? What do you think? Here is a photo: https://i.imgur.com/1FOcdZi.jpg https://i.imgur.com/8CmZ22v.jpg
Third question 3: Maybe it was easier with whole oats? I ordered oats too, but I will receive them in a few days.

Brf cakes are not a suitable inoculant for grains. You can inoculate bulk substrate with cakes though.

I also have spore syringes. So I can use them next time.

Pictures of your jars before inoculation would help.
Water didn't cause your contamination. It's funny how people want always suspect everything except themselves as the causenof their contam problems. I find that hilarious.
Pf cakes to grains is what caused your contamination. There is a method for doing it but if you don't have any experience working with grains it's easy to fuck up.
There are some people who use micropore tape for lids but it's not ideal.
Buy some synthetic filter discs and place them under your jar lids before you screw them down.
As always pictures help.
I'd bet anything that shredding up the cake is your contamination vector. How did you do it.

@elasticaltiger
Thanks for reply. So I must start today with spore syringe.
You mentioned about synthetic filter discs. I find synthetic cotton wool. On the package was written: "Excellent filtration medium, it stops almost all impurities." Photo: https://i.imgur.com/DLUnzQ9.jpg You think this will be okay if I cut out circles and place it under the lid?

Hard to say. I've never used anything like that unless it's the same thing as polyfill.

So if it was made of polyfill that will be ok?

Yeah there are people who use polyfill effectively.
You gotta ball it up as tight as you can to pack the hole as perfectly as possible.

Maybe stupid question, but can I use polyfill from a new pillow? I have a furniture store near the house, so I wouldnt have to order from the internet.

Yeah that will probably work as long as it's polyfill.
