Hi Everyone,
Lurked here a long time, and never got involved. This is my first year, have done my research and hunting already but no luck so far. Currently in Timaru, weather looking perfect for a early morning hunt tomorrow.

I have a few spots in mind already regardless!

Waiting for the temperature to drop. Like dubstep, it's all on after the drop.
Mate of mine in Queenstown found some Amanita muscaria last week. I explained the double boil method to remove the 'toxins'. He did it, ate 5 for dinner, tasty with no effect.
Definitely going to try that this year myself.

Took a break for a few years but I'm back on the hunt this season!
Definitely actives out in Chch, plenty of lil' pins. Haven't found anything large though.
Training my dog to sniff 'em out. I mean, if you can train a dog to sniff truffles, surely these ain't too different? Only big bummer in Chch last few years is when council dumped about a meter of earth over my old spots.
Obviously not gonna mention any exact locations on here but if anyone in Chch is keen to swap ideas on best locations for subs PM me, I've only ever found out east and would love to hear if anyone in Chch has luck in other parts of the city
