Living in a van/bus?

Curious if anybody has lived in a van or small school bus for an extended period of time.
I'll be graduating in 2019 and I keep getting more and more interested in living in a van full time.
I plan to get a job out of college to pay off my student loans. Once that is complete I'd love to buy a van and build it out. Eventually quitting work and living off the grid in the van full time. Potentially doing some remote software/website development work depending on how much money I'll need to survive.
Ideally, I'd love to have a 100% autonomous greenhouse going so I never run out of food. That is definitely the largest obstacle IMO.
Any thoughts on to showering, van selection, van conversion, food supply, or any added tips/tricks would be helpful.
I see living in a van as a great way to reduce deforestation, minimize dependence on material objects, and enjoy my life more.
I've always had the idea that working a 9-5 every day is a waste of my life. I'd rather be out exploring the world as a broke homeless guy than be rich and have to go to the same job every day. I'd like to make my full-time job living and being happy. Maybe one day that will include working a 9-5 but for now I can't see that as a long-term lifestyle.
Let me know what you got! Thanks!

Was looking at the designs of wagons back from the pioneer days and they'd have a little space for their chickens in the wagon. Eating eggs every single day isn't as monotonous as it sounds, its a reliable breakfast. Two hens keep me in business year round. Eggs last a good 3 weeks or more without refrigeration. No need to raise em from chicks, craigslist is often full of people looking to downsize their flocks
That is the entirety of my contribution to this thread beyond
