Hi, Im a first timer on agar. Trying to colonize with a multispore syringe. Been exactly like this for a couple og days now. And it seems like it is starting to grow some yellowish in the agar gel itself. Please help!!

welcome to the forums brother!
Also go into the search bar top right and search for agar contamination and see if yours looks anything like those.
What recipe is that agar? And did you just open your plate to take a picture of it??

Doesn't look awesome doesn't necessarily look bad.
When doing spores to agar i make at least 10 plates so i have a good chance of getting something good or useable

That's interesting. I've got my very first batch of spored Glad Minis going. Prints made using your tek, thank you very much. So generally, I can expect to only get a decent sample from 10 or 20% of them?

No, just removed some plastic around the plate to get a clean pic. Couldt find anything similiar in the contamination tread. Have made 5 plates. Every one got this yellowish underneth the white spots. Is agar from potato dextrose, and some green food coloring. Wondering if the yellowish is myc growing in the gel?(white+green=yellow) Is it possible? Any advise on moving ahead with this? Best regards.

Did someone got any advise? Tried to take some samples and removed it to another plate. Hope to see some white growing out of it.

Youve got contamination towards the center.
Immediately transfer one of the white growths to a new dish in a still air box.

Red is contamination. Transfer one of the blue areas. Not the whole thing. Just one of the white spots.
