Where i live theres an abundance of roadside piles of shredded wood, also for some reason other than smoking chips, small woodchips are almost impossible to find, and untreated chips too (like for playgrounds).
I was wondering, in making a mushroom grow bed, does it matter if im using woodchips or mulch?
I must emphasize on the freshness, i wouldnt use anything old or composting.
Also, the only chips i can get are like the size of my hand.
I dont have any particular species in mind, just whatever is physically growable here in the tropics during the dry season (winter) when daytime temps only peak at 25 celsius
