Removing the mushrooms on the side of the Cake

After I harvested my 1st flush I have a lot of small mushrooms on the sides.. I soaked the cake for 12 hours.. How can I remove them ? Or is it OK if I leave them as they are? Thanks!

Wont this damage the mycelium or the substrate ?
