God, does anyone have experiences in the "outdoors" here? * 1

It's like a bunch of teens posting what they have heard.  It's idiotic.

Like living every summer of your adult life in National parks in Alaska, or living In A tent through the entire Oregon winters.  Or now having a house to live in with a freezer full of salmon and elk?  How about taridgeium and precursors to skin cancer from being in the sun all the time, and some kind of carpel tunnel type thing and having to bust through it for putting wood up?  Not sure.

One time I killed a grizzly with a knife I made from stone. I then ate it raw and used it's skin for a blanket.

My grandmother used to kill bears with only her sewing needles, and then stitch quilts with their hides.  It's how we survived long winters in the depths of the Alaskan wilderness.

Hilarious

Do you live in Alaska?

I saw this video on youtube. This old man is walking. I think he was Polish. This bear comes running out of the trees. He yells all crazy at it and it took off. He scared the shit out of it.

Just got back from an 8 day solo canoe trip to Algonquin PP (that's in Canada little dudes), 32 lakes, 27 carries, 7 of which were +1000 meters (0.6 of a mile), the longest was 1705 meters (1.1 miles). It was a 105 km (65 miles) loop of which 16 km (10 miles) were carries. I do a double carry on each so that means 3 trips on each carry so add another 32 km to the trip making it a total of 137 km (85 miles). All this during bugs season and most days into a gusting headwind. Of the 32 lakes I was on I had 28 to myself and met no one on the carries.

Jealous!  Been a couple of years since my last canoe trip, damn work, if it wasn’t for the money I wouldn’t do it!.  The last time I did go was similar in that there was no one else around, didn’t see a single person.
Would like to try a kayak trip sometime but the portage trails I would use wouldn’t be good for a cart, not sure how else people carry them, awkward things.  My dad who is in his 70’s still does big  solo trips, loves it.  I personally like going with a friend, someone to chill with in the evenings.

Try a Pack Boat, it has the best of both types boats, although having said that I don't care for a kayak or a double blade.

Had to google that.  Never saw a pack boat.  12’ boat only 22 pounds!  That would be a dream to carry.  A kayak isn’t very practical but I have fun in my cheap little POS.  take it out almost every morning, good exercise and my zen time, good way to start the day.

I've got an Old Town Pack I like to tool around on flat water. They don't make them anymore and they have sort of a cult following now.

I have tons of experience in the outdoors.  Im like a wildebeest and shit, I tie people to chairs and leave them in the woods.  I like to give them time to think and reflect upon the error of their ways.  sometimes I poke them in the ribs with sticks cause its like tickle torture.  I know id hate it.  At night I make bear sounds just to increase their "learning a lesson" potential and of course for my own amusement.

Im just kidding.  I almost always end up hiking alone.  It'd sure be nice to find my other half.  I'm sure he's out there somewhere.  I love camping but where I go in remote secluded no where land its kind of scary in the middle of no where in pitch black darkness.

Did someone say pack raft?

https://www.alpackaraft.com/rafting/

A lot of people out west use these.  I scoffed at pack rafts at first, but the idea of floating my pack/meat out of a hunt downstream to the truck on a lead is very tempting.  I have a buddy who uses a combo of mt bike and pack raft to cover vast tracts.

That’s pretty cool, like the air bag inflation system.  Wouldn’t be good for a long canoe trip but would be fun n for some exploring and camping.

After you posted that Sweeper, I met some canoers ( from Iowa of all places lol ). And they knew about the swift canoe but didn’t think it was well suited for our big open waters.
