Is my mono ready for fruiting?
    #25060547 - 03/13/18 01:17 PM (6 years, 17 days ago)

I have nearly followed Damions5050's TEK to the T except I added a 1/2 cup gypsum:

1 Brick of Coir
2 Quarts of Verm
5 Quarts of Spawn (in my case rye)
1/2 cup Gypsum

It has been 7 days since incubation and here is the result thus far:

Top of tub:

Bottom of tub:

It looks like the mycelium has started to overgrow the casing layer. I know must mono's take 7-14 days to colonize (usually around 10 it seems) and I am unsure if I should wait a few more days or put the mono into fruiting now.

I've been keeping the mono between 72-80 degrees to try for a fast colonization time while at the same time trying to ward off any nasties.

This is my first grow so I am unsure exactly when to introduce fruiting.

I will be leaving for a week-long road trip in 11 days so I was really hoping to get a first flush picked before I left. If this isn't possible I may have to set up some type of auto fan/mist mechanism which I would rather do for my second grow... but you gotta do what you gotta do I guess.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Sorry for the terrible images. I didn't want to take the lid off as to maintain high CO2 levels

No responses, but I think I'm going to wait three more days. I took the tub out of my tent and the bottom looks like it's only 80-90% colonized

Ill post an update in three days

You can fruit now but I would wait another 48 hours.

And welcome to the forums brother.

Ok I just put some better pictures up that show the top and the bottom. It looks like a small pool of water is forming in one of the corners. Is that ok?

Thoughts on going into fruiting?
