She's recovering.  More likely, she's focused on that.  I don't know the woman personally, but I do know a few human beings.  I have noticed that it's pretty common for people to have very complicated baggage with family.  There's no telling what the situation is there, but I can imagine many different scenarios wherein she doesn't want to talk to them right now.

Jumping to the conclusion that she's under duress is silly, though.

Do you have a source on this?
Your previous quote mentions that Yulia contacted her cousin Viktoria
and that Viktoria helps care for Sergei's mother

You're right - her grandmother, not her mother (my mistake). So yes, she seems to care for her grandmother.

Due to trying to operate from a similar sentiment that he may hold and because that point tied into the following point

Tantrika said:
his niece speculates that he may be given a new anonymous identity for protection,
which could imply he is willfully not calling in order to maintain safety

As I said before, "Britain obviously has the technology to give her a phone that couldn't be traced to her exact location, or they could move her somewhere to make such a phone call."

And if he has no certainty whether he was targeted by Russia or Britain
do you think he should feel super safe and comfortable risking communicating with his family on Britain's networks?

My speculation is that he does not feel safe where he is now
and that he avoided direct contact with his mother for 14 years to protect her due to the nature of his position
now he may no longer feel indirect phone communication is safe for her

Why wouldn't his mother be safe if he called?  That makes no sense to me at all.

Am not wanted dead at the international scale, so my capacity to relate is entirely theoretical
he is the one navigating the actual circumstances
cannot envision avoiding visiting my mother for 14 years unless it was under extenuating circumstances
so trying to frame the situation in terms of what sort of impact such circumstances may have on my willingness to contact her beyond that
could only come up with an attitude of being concerned for her safety if she is considered too close to me

Am also seeing reports that Sergei's son died "suspiciously" on a trip to Russia
depending on Sergei's interpretation of that death and his and his daughter's poisoning,
he may feel that the less amount of contact he has with his mother, the safer she will be

cannot imagine being known as a former spy is a comfortable mode of interaction with the broader world
especially after an assassination attempt
would worry about endangering those close to me

But I didn't jump to that conclusion.  I've already made it clear "I don't know if she's under duress."

You're jumping to the conclusion that she's not.  And I'd like to know how you know that.

Here's the full context of what I posted:

I suggest you read Yulia Skripal Is Plainly Under Duress.

The point is, we don't know for a fact what Yulia wants, so Britain should allow her home country to at least talk to her (with adequate protections).

And here's what you said:

Boris Johnson is in the Tory party, not Labour.

Good riddance to him, the piece of shit.

Looks like May's government is slowly melting. Probably just in time to pass the Brexit mess to Labour.

Please reread my statements in this thread (I've quoted a few of them for you here) and tell me where I said it wasn't Russia?  I said we didn't yet have solid proof it was Russia.  And I still haven't seen solid evidence on this yet either, other than a few photos of Russian dudes in Britain:

Does anyone notice anything interesting about the timing of the time stamps (look at the seconds)?

It very well might be these guys who poisoned the Skripals.

Look at what time each of them walked by the camera.  Pay careful attention to the seconds.  I just found it interesting, that's all...
