Will Scarlet said: Good post Falcon. BTW never mind how US sanctions will go with European companies, consider how they will go down with the European people.
We Europeans are aware of who really runs US foreign policy, and it looks like they are angling for World War 111, which they plan to fight to the last European.
The Russians are fellow Europeans, and they have no military bases in our countries. Their crime is that they have defeated the western backed terrorists in Syria.
As to who poisoned the Russian double agent and his daughter, well we know that we were lied to over Iraq's non existent 'weapons of mass destruction', and we know that we are being lied to again.
You are correct.
All of the people of Europe will be the first to be sacrificed if the world goes to war with Russia.
The regimes that rule over the people of the US and most of Europe have shown their faces for what they truly are. A bunch of spineless, pathetic, warmongering fools who will sacrifice the entire human race just so they can stay in power a little longer.
The options we have aren't very good. Either we destroy the ruling hegemon, the elites running this charade, and crush them, or we let them start a nuclear war and sacrifice all of us.
It's up to us. The truth is that the choice is ours and we don't have to let it happen. It will only happen if we let it happen. Keep that in mind at all times. There is hope that humanity will still do the right thing.
Sadly most people live in ignorance. A false enemy has all ready been created for Europeans by the oligarch, in the form of Islamic immigrants and Russia. Most of them buy it. How could they not, when those same people control the media and every thing we see (on both sides)
As a result, Europeans are too divided to unite against them. Germany's national socialists gave it the best shot and lost. The international oligarch used the entire communist and capitalist world to destroy them and bring Europe back under their control.

It is worrying watching how British public opinion is being manipulated right now.
Idiots with little understanding of propaganda have all of a sudden become experts on the evils of Putin. The state controlled BBC is forever transmitting programmes on the dastardly Putin. the MSM also is continuously printing half truths and downright lies about the Russian leader.
I am old enough to remember many previous conflicts, I was born during WW11 and was educated during the Cold War, and I recognise when I'm being conned. what is happening now is, in my opinion, far more serious than anything that took place during the cold war, including the Cuban missile crisis.
The difference being, this time there are powerful people who actually want a war.
I sincerely hope that it does not come about, I have had my life, but I have a grandson who is talented and intelligent. I don't see why his life should be sacrificed for a pipeline or to remove a Iran from the map.

if you were born during WWII then i respect your opinion if only for the fact that you've seen so much in your many years.
however; i wholly disagree that this current situation is anything comparable to the cuban missile crisis.

I think Will Scarlet, Bubbles, and chopstick's points of what's been happening in the world are accurate.
Whether or not these threaten WWIII is another question.

The reason I think this situation is more dangerous the Cuban Missile crisis is that the President at the time was JFK.
JFK was a more astute politician than Trump will ever be, and he could stand up to the Hawks better than the Donald will. Trump's appointment of Bolton is worrying, where are the voices of reason? Trump is surrounding himself with warmongers.
It doesn't look good for the planet.

I'm confused. Are you saying we're on the brink of a giant global war or that it doesn't look good for the planet? It seems to me that the planet would benefit greatly by a mass depopulation event.

I agree with you about the benefit to the planet. I should have said hat it doesn't look good for the human race.
The Cuban crisis was about Russian bases in the Americas (Monroe Doctrine anybody), it was a gamble by USSR and it failed. It really was not that important to the Russkies, certainly not important enough for Mutually Assured Destruction. Krushchev backed down and sanity won.
There is more at stake this time, and as I said before Trump is no JFK, in fact Trump is a bully, and nobody likes a bully.
This side of the pond we learnt about Trump when he built his golf course on the Aberdeenshire coast. He bullied individuals who had property he wanted. One guy who refused to sell to him was awarded the accolade of 'Scot of the Year'.
The Scottish Government withdrew the honorary Scottish citizenship they had awarded him and made it plain that he was no longer welcome in Scotland.
Oh, and one more point. Over here Theresa May is generally seen as a very weak leader.

The Russians pulled nukes out of Cuba because JFK agreed to pull them out of Turkey.
Now it's more like "Hey Russia, let us have Crimea or let us have Syria, or we'll be really mad at you!"

Mass depopulation would be good wherever it occurred, but I'd choose an evenly distributed reduction if given my druthers.

First, we were told this:
Novichok ranks among world’s deadliest chemical weapons
Quote:
Theresa May’s confirmation that the substance used in the attack on Sergei and Yulia Skripal belonged to the Novichok class of nerve agents has turned a spotlight on what are now considered among the world’s deadliest chemical weapons. . . . It has been reported that Novichok agents are five to eight times more lethal than VX, which was previously thought to be the world’s deadliest nerve agent.
And today there is this:
Yulia Skripal no longer in critical condition, say Salisbury doctors
Quote:
The condition of Yulia Skripal, who was poisoned with a nerve agent in Salisbury, is improving rapidly, doctors have said.
Her father’s condition was described by the hospital as still critical but stable
It appears to me we were lied to about the agent used.
Thoughts?
