Psychedelic country music?!

Hey guys I was listening to the joe rogan podcast tonight and this guy Sturgill Simpson was on. Usually joe rogan doesn't have people on who are talentless or whatever so I decided to give it a listen. I found some blatantly psychedelic themes in this song which I will post.

P.S. This is my first post in the psychedelic experience so hello! :grin:

Thoughts on this song? Seems pretty spot on to everything I've been told about psychedelics.

I really can't stomach most current country music, but I didn't hate this.

That's my thoughts exactly man. It doesn't have that shitty pop sound that most country music nowadays has. It's more akin to the old country outlaws of the past. I'm no country music fan really, but I just heard about this on joe rogan and thought it was worth a listen. I do like hank williams 3 though. The music video for this one was pretty cool as well, the visuals were stunning.

You should look up New Riders of The Purple Sage. They are a psychedelic country band from the early 70’s.

Bro... there is LOTS of psychedelic country-esque music.

I recently started listening to this guy. I to didn't think I liked country but it has opened up a whole library of music for me. Sturgill definitely has some classic rock, jazz influences. I think he is pretty talented.

Sturgill Simpson is awesome

This isn't exactly the same thing but I always loved My Morning Jacket, it's sort of alternative country-esqe with a definite psychedelic edge to it
