Hey guys,
I am putting together some of Prof’s RTV Injection Port/Polyfil Lid and I was running into some difficulty with filling the holes with Silicone and was wondering if anyone could offer some pointers?
Currently I am using Attwood Clear Marine Silicone Sealant and I find it difficult to reliably fill the hole, mainly It seems I make a bubble filled plug that doesn't really adhere to the hole. I saw people mention using a coin, but that just caused the coin to stick, and when removed, it ripped apart the silicone in the hole.
I am currently using the tube on the smallest opening. I am considering cutting it wider to easier put an even pea of sealant down.
What do you all do? Not trying to be dumb, simply don't know why I am running into some trouble.

Just put a fat blob of it on the hole and it should come out the backside if the lid.
Lick your finger and smooth the blob down a bit, it will sausage out the back. Then clean your finger and lick it again. Smear down the sausage coming out the back. This will give you a nice round bubble so you will know exactly where to inject.

Id use synthetic filter disks though.

Cut the silicone tube so it's at least as wide as the hole you are trying to fill. Squeeze a bit on to cover the hole. Then spit on your finger and thumb, then use that to squeeze the blob flat onto your lid. your spit will act as lubricant and is the best out there.

that is what I was starting to figure. Glad to know it seems a bit simpler than I was initially making it.
Thanks a ton for taking the time to give some examples and advice, my brothers!
