Just being curious - do you expect anything else than P. cubensis?
Not really, but It'd be a good record to have which could be used in future studies.

Yes
What could it show other than confirming psilocybe cubensis?

There are other Psilocybes in Africa / Asia which resemble cubensis somewhat but are not, such as P. aquamarina, P. natalensis, P. chuxiongensis, P. subaeruginascens, P. aeruginamaculans, P. septentrionalis, various South African collections and whatever is in GenBank as P. subcubensis from Nepal.

Im familiar with p. Subcubensis, however most of the others are new to me, tks Alan, aces as always.

This further confirms that Aussies are really good at finding Psilocybes, even on foreign continents.

P. subcubensis isn't a real species. The others are.
However OP probably has P. cubensis.

Is sub cubensis just meaning cubes from sub tropics? I here the sporss are slightly smaller? John alken sent me a print from Ecuador i believe and labeled it as subcubensis

Guzman describes psilocybe subcubensis as being similar to psilocybe cubensis but with smaller spores, are you saying he wrong?

Just out of curiosity, wouldn't it be kinda risky to mail the spore prints + piece of those mushrooms? Fairly sure it's illegal in most places and not sure if the cops could show up at your door one day if you had send something like that. Heard some stories over here for example where people ordered shrooms online and the cops ended up "delivering" them while under-cover to bust the dude. Lol.
Wouldn't it be better to let it be researched in the country of origin / at some local mycologists (if there are any)/university? It just seems risky to mail em just like that.

His description was made prior to DNA sequences showed that P. subcubensis in reality is conspecific with P. cubensis. And that's kind of interesting, since quite a bit of the existing mushroom taxonomy often is based on spore sizes being a crucial factor. I'm really curious how things will look when revised according to DNA sequencing. Maybe the old concepts will look somewhat ridiculous.

Sending spore prints is quite safe, they can be easily concealed between two pieces of thin cardboard in an ordinary envelope. People send and receive thousands of prints daily, and I never heard of a bust, even in countries where it's illegal. There have been a few spore syringe busts, because a syringe full of liquid is suspicious and bulky. Something similar can be done with a piece of dry material, although that is a bit more risky. But still people receive tissue samples often and without problems. I know I'm prejudiced and know next to nothing about Zimbabwe and it's laws, except what I hear in "western" media (nothing of which is very nice), but I'm kinda doubtful there would be many scientists there interesting in sequencing DNA or domesticating psilocybin mushrooms. Also, my prejudice makes me think it would be more dangerous walking around Zimbabwe with psychoactive mushrooms, than sending or receiving spore prints.
