Never seen wiki before. That should be cool.
I have 6 bottles of texas orange cap 3/4 colonized and 6 bottles 1/2 colonized all inoculated 2/19. 3 others were showing metabolites so they got top fruited

This is pasty's wiki culture. It's on its last legs though.

Hear it is in a couple pint bottles I did in 2016

Growth is crazy slow but I'm becoming cautiously optimistic that these 8 WIKI bottles might actually finish up and bear fruit.
I've germination on one of my PE spore plates as well. A couple transfers and I'll start a new set of bottles with some some fresh genetics.

Once casing layer is added, how long does it typically take to start getting pins?

I honestly don't remember the time line of any of my grows. It's different with every culture but I'd say within a week.

Thanks! I really like this tek, so appreciate the time you put into this thread.
I did one casing with verm, and tried one with hpoo to see if there would be any difference.

Harvested three bottles like this last night and this morn. PESH, 394g wet total. Two more bottles close behind. Starting to get the hang of this.

Beautiful fruits, Zach. I'm about to case and fruit 7 of my bottles now. They've been at 100% for a week or so I'm sure have consolidated enough.

Thanks, Stare! What have you got in those bottles?
I had let 3 bottles consolidate in this current batch (in order for the others to catch up). Alright pinset, and the fruits are coming along slowly—maybe 2 days behind the pictured bottle above. I would have guessed they were the first to mature/harvest. Strange, huh?

that makes a lot of sense.
I'm debating that same thing as well.
I think too much is bad for my situation as it seems to not colonize enough of the casing to make good use of my conditions and fruits under the casing causing a smaller pinset and smaller fruits.
When I get the knots/pins forming ontop of the casing is when I get full flush canopies and fully formed dense fruits. but too much colonization of the casing caused the surface to dry out too much so there is a balance there.
I left some consolidating for 2 weeks which gave me the poor results so don't read too far into tat.
A little consolidation(a few day) could be very beneficial.
Just another thing I will be testing out asap.
Tom have you had a chance to play around with consolidation times?

I'd say most of my bags get "consolidated" for at least a couple days and up to a few days. what I mean by consolidating is once the whole sub is white I wait a few days and the white gets whiter. IDK if that's consolidating at all just getting a thick colonization.
Ones that go too long often pin invitro or perform lesser on the first flush.
not always(could just be my cultures/strains) but I'm finding a pattern of it ... so far
the ones I get right on schedule are the most reliable and even pinsets.
(very initial testing on that so take it lightly)
I would test your results with it but probably isn't as big of a deal as I make it out to be and is often dependent on genes and your environment/fruiting conditions.

Huskies, you'll definitely want to just make some liquid culture out of the agar, and then use that to inoculate.

Cool. So once its a bold white fruit it. About 3-4 days to a week but less than 2 weeks.

Been a minute but I'm back to it.
Giving this tek a go because I bought all the supplies ages ago when I first read this tek, have a ton of the twist n' lock containers just chilling, giant bag of oats, dog food, OBRF, coir/verm, etc.
Thinking my best bet would be putting SHIP's (I have some and RTV) on the lids, leaving the lids slightly unscrewed during PC and quickly tightening after removing from PC, then slightly loosening again after inoculation with LC, until I can get a semi-sterile environment to work in (flowhood didn't get done yet, have a SAB but don't trust it tho lol)
Loving the idea of fruiting these in monotubs, I think not dealing with monotub substrates in exchange for dealing with some plastic containers is a no brainer trade off. Definitely beats trays and marthas and all that bs, IMO.
Also loving the idea of using just about anything for substrate/spawn. It's like recycling...
I'll let you know how it goes, I gotta inventory and see how many of these containers I have.

^^^ You go girl! ^^^
Got a couple kinds of ganodermas getting sexy in the bottles. I've been keeping a journal, might put something up one of these days.

Also some LGT, PESA and a mystery cube going to hit the bottle soon. Even some lion's mane and oyster... shit, I need more tubs!

My texas yellow cap bottles will be fruiting soon. I’ll be sure to post up my results.
