That's just people being lazy or not caring. I don't carefully plate the food I make at home. Good plating will never go away in restaurants though.

i don't think i agree, not necessarily, on the notion of laziness, i think it's just a trend that states "taste is more important". of course visual aesthetics aren't going anywhere, that i can agree with.
