Yep, I´m keeping a close eye on it, I thin all of them have began stretching onto the coir. I´m hoping this will result
in bigger first flush, kind of like bottom watering, the coir is SOAKED so plenty of water there.

If this becomes a problem instead I will put the cakes inside lids.

Hmm. Maybe liberty caps aren't as susceptible to mycogone infection as cubes. Also I just scrolled back and realized they weren't cubes he had in his jar. That changes everything since I only know cubes and certain gourmet edibles. I know my g. sessile looks like it has horrible mycogone but it really doesn't. It's just the way it is.

Also just looked at the pics in your post. The third pic really looks like mycogone. I have seen some people be able to get decent amounts of fruits coming out of mycogone tubs. I have also seen tubs be devastated by it. I think it comes down to genetics as far as how much contams something can handle or how far into colonization the infection occurred. I think things have a better chance when you start off with clean spawn and get infected after the fact.

And UV light is shit for any living organism to have long term exposure to. That's why it works to sterilize. WTF are you people even talking about anymore. I want sexy pin porn in the Pic of the Day thread. Go have your tiffs in cult general discussion. Don't make me start finger wagging.

I havd only seen mycogone in fruiting subs myself.
I mean i know it was in my spawn but never seen it show its face in my grain, RR has pictures of growths similar to what i posted under a scope snd was no infection just excess metabolites....remi ds me of the starting of reishi lol

Yeah. Reishi does horrify me when it starts out. People told me I was going to. They said it was going to get wet and nasty and would only get worst as it progressed. It takes oem getting used to when cubes, p. ostreatus and lions mane are so white and pristine. Also I edited what I said above. I'm getting cranky and sleepy and can't type anymore. I think that's a sign to go to bed.

These cakes were inoculated with the same LI as my WBS tubs before that, remember how many freaks was in those tubs, people like Stared at those tubs and were like those are bacterial as fuck lol. So I´m guessing these cakes are bacterial as well and that´s what´c causing the blobs. Could also be wet substrate as you say, either way we will find out. In another exact same FC I have half pint oat cakes that are fruiting as well, no blobs on them. Sleepy time now, ill post pics tomorrow.

The first pic possibly, the 2nd pic is because they were to dry, and the caps were beginning to become bleached

It does look a lot like the picture you've posted. Appeared once the jar seemed fully colonized. The jar and growth smelled like mushrooms. Does a mycogone contaminated jar give off an unusual odour? Better safe than sorry either way.

:whathesaid:

Mycogone looks like really shitty bacterial spawn that grows slower than mycelium. Best way I can describe it.  Seems it likes to show its full colors when fae happens.

You can tell I have some jars that look like it if I remember I'll post a pic in the morning.

The top one looks interesting. Clone it! Kind of sad I didn't get to cloning these leucistic purple mystics. I have to get those bad boys on agar again and hope one expresses that trait again. As for the bottom ones sometimes mine get like that from getting too dry.

You know shit got real bad when you stop caring about your mushroom projects...

I hope I'll be able to jump back into the hobby soon and share something. So far I pretty much only have mycelia growing (Azurescens). Fucking life situation...

Take care everyone.

My god. I have so many cultures rolling at the moment. It gives me something to do. XD Bout to knock up a bunch of LC's and expand some LC's I ordered that I've tested on agar.
