Dealing with spot contamination in jars [PICS]
    #25043810 -

Hi guys,

After hitting 16 days of germination, I gave my quart jar a few good shakes, and the mycelium recovered decently.

However, some condensation built up inside. A single kernal of wheat made contact with a droplet of water and now the colour (around the kernel) looks off. Is it possible that healthy mycelium is growing around the bubble/drop?

Does it look okay to eventually do G2G with?

The bubble is on the top right of the first photo, and kind of above center in the 2nd photo

Thanks for looking

It's got a little bit of wet spot bacteria.

Next time you just need to prep your jars a little dryer or use less inoculant.

It might still work, but I would get started on a new batch right now lol.

You definitely don't want to do grain to grain with that jar.

You want to select the most healthy vigorous growing jar to do grain to grain with.

Pressure cook for 1.5-2 hours at 15 psi for best results.

So condensation is always a bad sign? I almost thought my wheat berries were too dry. Thank you! I nocc'd up 3 more jars this week because only 1/7 from my last batch made it

A little bit is ok, but too much is bad for sure.
