mycelium on grain transfer to agar, look ok?
    #25038271 - 03/04/18 01:21 PM (5 years, 11 months ago)

I had a bacterial (I am assuming, new to this) and stressed jar of pc'd grains that I had inoculated with a MS syringe, cubensis z strain.  All six were colonizing slow, eventually got to where I shook them, then the next day I had a space heater malfunction and lost many of these jars and others to extreme heat. One was saved with viable mycelium, but going slow. I decided to grab some mycelium on the grains to try and save the strain before it got too bacterial. I transferred some grains in a SAB to agar (20g agar, 20g potato flakes, tsp honey, 1 L water, stirred and heated then PC'd 20 min at 15psi). It is taking off, but I would like experienced input as to if this looks good enough to take transfers from to run it away from nastys that may be riding along with. I have just begun using agar, hence the MS syringe start previously. Do you notice anything obvious that I should be worried about, such as the possible mold looking stuff puffing up? Thanks, this site is a wealth of information.

Here is a closer view of one of the plates.

Nope that's a great looking p1 I'm assuming 1st plate, I would make multiple transfers to new plates from that top leading edge in the 2nd closeup pic.

Good job on your agar the myc seems to love it.

Many thanks, I'll get after it tonight. This agar is too much fun, it begins to increase exponentially!
