Habitat:
was growing in cow manure also where I found more mature cubes

Gills:
gills were black but now growing ( assuming because it has dropped spores

Stem:
70mm white stem , hollow fibrous with veil, stem stained blue

Cap:
60 to 80mm caps convex ( I think thats correct

Spore print color:
black spore print. don't have photo though

Bruising:
stem bruised and also inside of stem bruised quite blue.

Other information:
I think they are cubes but also found stropharia sp in the area but they had a more solid stem and no gold on top.

sorry for shitty photos.

Yes the whole thing will bruise blue were damaged.

The best way i know to i.d cubes is by theyre smell, i think its a unique unmistakable smell specially when in a dehydrator unless theres other mushies that smell like cubes, correct me if im wrong t.i

Theyre taste is unique as well but thats a risky way to test.
Once you get to know a cube well enough you and your stomach never forget haha.

It's ok to taste mushrooms as long as there is no allergies to mushrooms and you spit out what you taste. Mushrooms have to enter the GI tract to be poisonous.

The smell is often described as being Farinaceous.

Definitely Cubensis. I would not test shrooms by taste.

^ Pretty sure it's fine to taste and spit. Even for Galerinas, I don't think one small bite will have any effect.

Using the taste method is a standard way to identify fungi out in the field.

Take a piece, chew or break with the tongue. Note taste. Spit. Rinse with water.

I usually limit tasting to members of the Russulaceae, though.

Its usually helpful to taste any fungi you plan to preserve and study later. Its a pain when you're trying to identify some lbm a few months after it has dried and find that the key wants to know smell and taste...

I like that graemlin. If you want to , make the background transparent, resize to 100x100 pixels and save in .gif format. I will add it to the list of graemlins.

And I taste everything if possible.
