If you guys had a worn out airstream that isn't in the best shape, would you if you could, buy a tiny lot of property on the ocean and put it on a pad as a getaway overlooking the ocean?

I say go for it. Good luck finding ocean front property.
I bought a 1969 19' Caravel 20 some years ago, towed with a Grand Cherokee that I used on various family camping/fishing trips everywhere from Lake Ontario salmon, Susquehanna River smallmouth in Pa, Eastern Shore Va, Delaware River to the Jersey shore. The fridge ran on 12vdc battery or 120 vac or propane.
I kept it parked next to a nice sized trout stream in the Catskills on an acre I had when she wasn't on the road.

She survived 2 'Hundred year' floods but the third one killed her. Smashed windows, tree branch through the side, interior flooded 18" deep, sand and grit everywhere, roof crushed from a fallen tree, spare tire, propane tanks and regulator washed away.
All the trees in that second set of pics washed away, even that big pine. Both of my canoes, all my yard furniture, fishing gear, kegerator, that fire pit...gone. Nothing like than a good beat down from Mother Nature to teach me some humility.

. . .

No, I would at least buy a trailer home. Or even just a shipping container. Add some windows and doors and not only is it socially acceptable, but its hip and would be a fun project. Or build little log cabin. I would stay in the airstream while I built or saved for a trailer.
How much is the property? Can you start a commune and have people pay you to develop the land? You could be a slumlord like Patal

I have a real home and a failing frame on my trailer that already snapped so I want a getaway not a permanent home. I bought a new toy hauler that can carry my kind of cargo so she wont be seeing the road much anymore.
