I found a few in maryland.  There are a few fresh pins developing from the last rain, though they might get snowed on.  I left them to see what would happen and havent had time to go back and take a picture.  They are very scarce right now though and just getting started Only a few were found where I believe a lot more will follow.

I try not to think of it that way though.  Moisture is the most important thing.  It will probably ruin any ovoids that fruited, but hopefully help the necessary vegetation break out of dormancy.  When the temps go from being not warm enough to warm enough, this usually results in it being too dry and then we all start doing rain dances.  It will probably be a few more weeks to see lots of green vegetation and humidity and well, spring though yes.  But its kind of a good thing as well. Hopefully it will kill some ticks too

that's pretty rad, koods.  you must have had it propped up, off the floor for them to bottom fruit, huh?

the lid blew off one of my tub projects and the chickens got into it, stirring it all up.  maybe i'll bring it inside and see what happens.  can't be worse than the damn chickens getting to it again.

worst case it's a big tub of spawn.

Nah the box was flat on the ground, but the ground is one inch round stones

Stevo, Good stuff finding an outdoor pin! Do you think being closer to the ocean plays a part in your early flushes?  You always seem to find a couple really early fruits.  Also, absolutely agree about this recent front to come thru.  These last min freezes might not be good for growing plants, but it is just what the ovoids love and use to start off their season.  Sure it means we have to wait until we almost always wait, but as long as the moisture is there, these events are great for natural cultures

Koods, Awesome work with that project!  That crate really seems perfect for spawn, easy to move around and definitely provides the airflow ovoids seem to love.  .. Those pins are too funny, never gets old :super:

Stevo is one of the few posters that find ovoids on the coastal plain. You look at the distribution map almost  all the finds are along or west of the fall line. Of course, that is also where the population density is highest, but it's not like people don't live on the coast:
