Just planted Cuttings. have questions (sun and water)

Hello all,
I just planted some cuttings I got (30cm bridgesii, 20cm psycho0, 20cm bridgessi x psycho0, 30cm pach x psycho, 20cm SS01 xSS02, 20cm with roots bridg x peruvianus and a few others).
I put some gravel on the bottom of the pots, then filled with commercial cacti potting mix, then put them in and covered about 3'' deep, and put some gravel on the top.
My questions:
How long should I wait to water them (I've read 5 days and another site said water immediately )?
How long should they be in the sun for (its nice and sunny here right now)? (I've read they can go strait in the sun, and another site said they need shade ). I had them in the sun for about 2 hours but then i read that, so i've now got them in the shade.
I'm sure they'll be fine, but i want to give them the best chance.
Thanks

My advice would be to not water until they push out enough roots that if you pull on the cutting you feel some resistance. And even then water only small amounts at a time at the beginning. Don't move them around too much or start digging everyday to see if they rooted, just let them do their thing for at least 2 to 3 weeks.

I would also advise mixing more perlite or pumice in your soil. Most commercial potting mixes don't drain we'll enough for trichs.

And you mentioned one had roots. Do we assume the other cuts are not rooted?
How callused are they?

As TUD says above its important that they have callused before planting them. If you plant a fresh cut into soil it will rot instead of producing roots and start grow.
Cuttings shall be left in a well ventilated dry area until the ends have dried up and formed a hard surface ie. callous. Then they can be planted into well a draining soilmix. Commercial cactus soils dont have perlite or larger gravel so that must be added so it drain really well. Do not water a newly planted cutting directly. If it had no roots you must wait like a month or so before the cutting has formed roots and this needs to be done just by not watering them. If it had roots you can water after a week or 2. Always take it slow in the start ie. water little at start, and a little light at start increasing during a period to full lightning.
Good luck

Thanks all for the advice, it is very helpful and gives me a good idea on what to do now (whereas google searches just left me more confused from all the different info).
Also, yes the ends of the cuttings were dried and callused (and yes, only one of them had root, so i'll water that one sooner than the others). I don't know if i can disturb them to put perlite in the mix, maybe i will do it to half of them and see how it goes. But i'm pretty confident that they'll do well!

I have found thay emerging root buds, and you can clearly see them, are induced and provoked to emerge by moist soil. You ll see the bumps at the bottom. A good soak afyer a couple of weeks is what i recommend after that.
