What i mean is condensation from the outside of dish not from the inside. Sorry brother, my bad for not clearly stating it..
House sits at 70% rh in the tropics 93f here

i wondered the same thing in my dry sab thread. ive never ever seen condensation inside my SABs walls. maybe its from hot breath:uhoh:
or from peoples freshly steaming body from takin a shower? radiating heat? i steam up my car sometimes that way.

I bet thats it. After taking a shower and workin.
Ac needs fixin. Im sweating like a pig working on sab.:smbfacepalm:

I thinkering of long ass gloves to battle this when working dry.
My dry sabs tends to build up water inside due to condensation.
Its smells vinegary after it sat static for 2 weeks while im testing working dry.
It worked flawless from the start 0 contamination.
But as the stagnant water builds up after 2 weeks i get mild contamination 4 south out 40 no pours.
I needed to clean and air it out this evening due to this.

Condensation on the outside of the petri?

Are you sure it's not wet from misting?

Either way I don't wrap wet petris. Pinch it closed with one hand and wipe it clean with the other

Not from mistin.. i tend to work dry. And i usually mist my sab without things/petris inside.
I like to wrap after the agar sets due to spore load.
Will test it, Hope wiping them to dry doesnt add huge vector.

Thanks humble.

Does anyone ever have trouble with getting metal rings and lids to stay on when using sfd's?

I bought some sfd's and I put them in between the lid and the ring.

Some of the rings will start to thread but will pop off when it starts to get snug. Some won't even begin to thread on to the jars. However, if I take the sfd out everything screws on just fine.

What do?

Try flipping your lid upside down? I've never used whole sfd under my lids...

Lids are flipped. Some of them screw on just fine but over half are giving me trouble.

And the sfd is between the lid and the ring.

That's what I did, but I went to plastic one piece lids. I don't have to mess with the rings or rust.

Is it possible for cakes to never fruit? Reason for asking, I was just reviewing some of my journals and I've had a cake sitting in the SGFC for about a month and a half now. Now just assume that I did everything right when it comes to the FC because I've checked everything 10 times. Even if my cake hadn't been 100% colonized it should have fruited by now. And yes I waited a week after the whole brf half pint jar was white b4 I fruited and dunked for 24hr and rolled in verm. There are also no signs of contams and they smell shroomy. The cakes are all opaque white and very solid. Regular misting and fanning.

The only 2 variables I haven't accounted for yet are the light and overlay.
I'm doing 12/12 with a regular CFL bulb in my desk lamp facing directly in the top is this light hurting the shroomers or just not as good as a 6500k CFL bulb would be?
And if any1 knows more about overlay what causes it how to prevent and how to fix that would b great.

Any other advice on how to get my cakes fruiting?

Overlay doesn't happen to cubensis. and cubensis will fruit in complete darkness.
You either let them dry out, or bad conditions, or contamination, or a combination

I¨m hoping to fruit some mushrooms straight from jars. Mixed rye, verm and coir in there. So far almost all of them have colonized pretty good. Gonna fruit them any moment now. But, suddenly two jars got brown spots and started sweating out a lot of yellow water.

Is this bacteria, or am i doing something wrong ?

Here's one of them. The other one was worse so i thew it.

I changed over all 50ish jars I have to plastic one piece and never has one warped. Were you using them unmodded?

I could see some brands warping but the type Walmart carries work great and I’ve noticed no warping.
