I have had that problem but I think it was due to bad prep/large filter hole...

I use loose tea so it's a bit of a pain in the ass regardless. I have tea infuser spoons, but I'm usually making larger quantities of tea. I just scoop it all into a coffee filter at the end and squeeze the piss out of it.

Does citric acid have as much of an effect on the taste as lemon juice?

I do actually. So I started to load my grain up slightly wet and I shake as soon as I take them out the PC. It has helped so far. Even then, when spawning I would just pour out the uncolonized grains, never caused a problem

Lol yeah its because i like to have two coatings of wrap. One sealing the plate. The other is the one thats mostly treated with alc if i have to open it or something.

I think the wrap is sterile from the process used to make it, either way it's unnecessary to treat with alcohol. People use it to treat burn wounds; no need to treat wrap with alc, which is probably worse. Also, cut the roll into small 1 - 1.5" wide sections and you have makeshift parafilm. That way you're not wasting tons of wrap and having so much like in your pics. bod showed me that, I think. It's very easy to maneuver in the SAB and my preferred method to store fresh plates for later use.

These jars contain the same thing 4month+ old sawdust/rice cakes inoculated with SA cube agar. The mycelium very slowly crawls though the sawdust, it takes 2.5-5 months for it to cover the jar. These cakes are useless for fruiting. However, if you add the colonized sawdust to sterilized water and shake it to a slurry it is a very effective liquid inoculant.

I'm not sure if a tek has been written for this li method. When I made the cakes I was hoping to fruit them, but they went slimey and smelly instead of giving me fruit.

I was lucky to discover that they are usefull for something.  They work well as li and they allow you to slant a culture in a form that may be kept at room temperature for 1/2 a year. As a bonus your 'slant' is in a form that allows you to go from storage to harvest in about a month. I made a dozen or more jars with my first round of sawdust li. I'm sure you could innocuate several dozen jars off each 250ml brown rice/sawdust puck, if you were inclined.
