Any ID?
    #25027715 - 02/28/18 02:29 AM (3 years, 2 months ago)

Found near some trees, growing from dead leaves:

It almost looked it was bruising black/blue-ish, especially at the base. But upon further examination I'm not sure it really did. At most very slightly.

Spore print would definitely help, looks like it could be pinkish going by the gills, but you can't always go by that.

The stipe does appear to be bluish at the base. Keep it and do a spore print please, I would like to see more on this one.

Chance of any conifer trees like pine growing nearby? Could it possibly be growing from a decayed cone?

And yes, try to take a print and also please take face-on gill shot so we can see the attachment properly.

I don't think that is blue bruising we see in the first picture, but rather a distortion of colors.
Note the lack of blue in the second picture.

Also note the dark brownish (?) flecks on the surface of the gills. Spores or dirt?

I think the blueish hue comes from a shadow or the way the stem is bent... I don't believe it's blue bruising

Could it possibly be a Pluteus sp., something like P. nanus?

I don't have a description handy for it, but comparing with online pictures, several macroscopic traits look compatible imo.

Yea only just now I see that first picture is a bit misleading (uploaded through my phone), that was a shadow. But there was a slight blacking/blueing at the base that I did see, but very small. Atleast that's what it seemed like when I picked it.

Nearby trees were all fig trees. Looks like it could be a Pluteus Nanus, there aren't many pictures or info about that one, but some pictures I found through google look very similar. And those specks, I dont know.. dirt I think?
Edit: It looks it could potentially be this: http://www.mushroomexpert.com/pluteus_romellii.html

Not very likely, but possible. It normally has some kind of yellow tint to the stem, which I can't see this one having.

Again, a face-on gill shot would tell us whether we should go with Pluteus or look into another genus.

Well it didn't really survive the way home and I was unable to make a spore print of what was left. I'll try to store it better next time..

I'll check and see if I can find more of them grow in that area at least

Lepista sp., likely L. nuda.

Also please make your own thread when asking for identification, as more people are likely to reply.
