Never even thought to check there. I'll have to try at least one batch. Any particular prep worked well for you guys? The only one I'm really finding is PPP's.

Give your nearest feed and farm store a call. I guarantee it's cheaper there than anywhere else. Get that shit in bulk man!
Edit: is winco a grocery store?

As far as prep goes I just put the dry seed in the pot and add water a few inches over the top and put it on the stove. Simmer untill they plump up about twice their normal size. Or when I see a burst grain. Then strain. I stir them frequently as the are cooling off. I do not cold rinse them!
They are basically cooled off to room temp before I load them into jars so don't have to deal with condensation. Then put the lids on and the foil covers and pressure cook them butches for 2 hours.
I try to remember a splash of white vinegar in my pc water too. I've got hard water and my jars come out sparkley clean.

Yeah, I can do a 50lb bag of whole wheat for under $20 at my local farm/feed store, but I kind of want to test out a smaller batch before I leap into it.

I prefer wbs, but oats are way cheaper, I have fruited some fat fruits on straight wbs. Millet is the best overall imo.

Ive used wbs exclusively since I started and love it. I would recommend anyone to start on it because it's readily found anywhere so it's easily found in emergencies. I've always heard oats are better and when u go oats you'll never forget back, I finally found it pretty cheap an hour away, $13/#40 bag maybe 50# I haven't opened it yet.
But I've also seen threads like this where other people have had bad luck I guess, dirty or something I don't quite understand. I've got just a little wbs left and then I'll find out

So far my only experience is with oats and I haven't quite got it down yet. I'm sure that once I'm decent at it, it'll be fine. I'm tempted to give wheat a try after this bag though because it's a little bit smaller, so I feel like it'd have better speed with G2G compared to oats. A 50# bag of wheat is only $2 more than a 50# bag of oats here so cost is comparable. Strangely enough, can't find WBS around here, or I'm just not looking in the right places.

So out of curiosity, how risky are outdoor beds in town? Obviously if no one sees you messing with it no one is going to pay much attention to a patch of mushrooms. In the extremely off chance that it does catch someone's eye, and assuming I have no obviously incriminating evidence (marked jars, plates, and dried shrooms), how likely is it that I could get away with plausible deniability? None of the species I will be doing patches of are native to my area.
I know flowers can be planted in woodlover patches, can the same be done with cubensis beds?
I'm not really worried about getting caught doing patches. No one knows I'm doing this except my girl, you guys, and 1 friend (she's letting me set up an azurescens patch at her place because she owns her house, and I'm renting and plan to move early fall). My neighbors all mind their own business, some are old friends, and I'll be doing my spawning at night.
My cubensis bed is going where my oyster sub graveyard is.

Just don't act like a creepy crackhead and you'll be fine. Who plants flowers in the dark? Instead of taking a bunch of jars with you just dump your spawn in a bucket before you head to your patch.

Good idea romeo. I'll be planting some sage, my girl bought a bunch of herbs for doing little fairy terrariums that will hang from the ceiling, she didn't realize sage gets too big for that.
There's a little over 12,000 people in my town.

I need to stop being lazy and build a planter or two out of some scrap lumber laying around so I can have a little herb garden this year.
The last couple of years I've been blending up morels and stirring them into buckets of water and splashing that all over my yard hoping to get some growing. I'm sooo ready for spring!

apes are real albinos cause the spores are clear(or whatever)AND i dont think they eject either.

You are partially correct. APE isn't always albino. My APE spores came out dark.

The parents of APE are PF albino, and PE. Being that the APE is a mix of an albino parent (PF albino) and a non-albino parent (PE) sometimes APE will have albino spores, and sometimes they won't.
