Aphids are a pain in the ass. I like to use a few drops of essential oils in a spray baottle w some water and a drop of Dawn. And whenever i can, if it wont cause any damage to the leaves (yungins) i'll blast the plants with a nice hard spray of water from the hose nozzle.
What kind of soap are you using? Im not familiar w insectial soap

I've used this for a few years. Have you used it on other plants and if so, what do you think of it?
My kratom also seems to attract aphids. The ants seem to farm them and I have to apply regular preventative sprays. I use mineral oil/white oil while muttering curse words.

She was a real looker welcome and thanks for throwing up some green porn
I hope i didnt lose anything substantial. Any mothers or whatnot. I got pretty confident in their strength this go around. Happy i at least brought in one (from a few posts up). I dunno, i still have faith. Ive got some nice thick stems on a few of the older ones. Its hard though... kind of like watching a boiling pot. Im going to hit them up w some juicy nutes tonight... made up a nice brew for all my outdoor soldiers. Has mycorrhizae and mollases and everything... hope it does the trick. I think the cold is prob over with where i at. Thank the Krat Gods!
Hey Ferrel, hows the hirsuta doing? My stem feels pretty flexible but at the same time i havent tried it too hard, just n case. Back to watching the boiling pot i suppose

Yeah I heard rifat was supposed to be very hardy in terms of Kratom. Of all my Kratom the rifat looks the worst from sitting inside all winter. Sure the other plants dropped a few leaves. But the rifat dropped all but 1 leaf. But I guess that's means it's still alive. I'll be excited to see the bursting with life this spring!

Yeah I had the rifat for 3-4 years when I lost it I couldn't believe it. It was dealing with some stress that I think made it more susceptible to the cold, it got these red spots on the leaves and it really inhibited growth and then during the winter drop all its leaves and then come spring was dead, I kept it for another year and it was dead.
Did we ever find out what causes/ fixes this? I know its kratom herpes but is there a cure?

Im Starting to think it may have something to do with nutrient lockout. But yeah as far as i know the jurys still out on it. I have seen it on all my plants though. Every variety and during the days when it was kicking ass and when it was dying back for winter. Def seems to be a lot heavier, almost to a necrotic extent, during the colder months.
My condolences on the rifat

Hmmm. I had leaves look like that when I wasn't fertilizing enough. So lipa might be on to something, started light,y fertilizing every 2-4 weeks and it went away.

I had something similar looking on my Thai red vein. They were growing indoors so it could not be cold related in that case. Never could save them, all my TRV died in conditions were Riafats were growing well. Strange...

This video gives a basic overview of the process. I posted it at the start of the thread. One thing to note, is that any clear container will work. A clear beer cup w a lid is just as good. Also if one cant mist as oftne as suggested, then a nice blow of fresh air seems to do nicely in between mistings. Several can be done in larger containers too, so one isnt limited by just the one cup style. I personally dont always like to put all my eggs in one basket, but fuck it, sometimes theres only so much space. And schoolbussing that shit does save space.
Theres another guy on utoob, i think his name is bob or something... he did a root race type of video and in his case straight perlite took the win (if i remember correctly)... ive noticed some good results when working w perlite. I personally like to do a mix of coco and perlite. Some like to mix in mycorrhizae into their mediums as well.
As for clone dip... do whatever you want. This video suggest the old school, cheap and ghetto white powder from any generic nursery. But theres other options... like clonex, GABA, aloe vera juice, etc.
I have found its best to not expose my cuttings to intense lighting for the rooting process. That and dont let them dry out... and its helpful to clip the edges of the leaves for two reasons... it helps w transpiration and its less shit sticking out of the clone thats going to get caught on the container or whatnot and shift them around too much.
Ferrel has successfully rooted clones in a standing glass of water. I believe he said the water was changed once. Kratom is tough and can go a while in just about any cloning environment.
It can take a few weeks though. Though some have reported a fraction of that.
Gl to you

Dude in my case RVT was a tricky fucking strain to grow. If it wasnt one thing, it was the next. I fought and struggled to keep them alive for quite a while but it just didnt give. Altho the neighboring rifat and bumblebees did just fine

I had 100% success on a dozen or so cuttings using an aeroponic cloner and some clonex, started rooting in about 2 weeks, ready for potting in 3.
