So...I live in the desert now and I miss water & fishing.
I know there are a few what I'd call ponds that are stocked. When my wife and I were out birdwatching at the stock/reserve ponds there were signs posted everywhere no fishing (pretty sure the water is toxic) but I saw two people fishing--lol. No where I'd wana go!
Anyhow, I'd be curious if anyone knows a good fishing spot.
I'd imagine up north I'd have more possibilites but I don't want to drive a couple/few hours one way to go fishing.

Bass take over retention ponds in industrial parks And retail developments. Ive caught a bass that weighed over 3 lbs from the retention pond of a hockey arena. The pond was tiny..I could cast all the way across it.
Google says theres 8 species of trout in Arizona..so apprently theres streams with fish in them some where.

Lol! Yeah I recently stayed at a bed and breakfast in Sedona and they offered trout fishing gear. I’ve never done fly fishing before but I’d love to try it. Hmmm bass would be definitely fun to get a fighter back in the line. I mostly miss my bluegills and crappie.

Talk about a frying pan-sized panfish! According to the Arizona Game and Fish Department, a pending world-record redear sunfish was hauled out of Lake Havasu, weighing in at a whopping 5.78 pounds, and breaking the previous record of 5.55 pounds.

Lake Pleasant, Bartlett, Horseshoe, Saguaro, Canyon, and Apache are all popular spots for people in the Valley. There are also the urban fishig ponds, but they get hammered right after they're stocked. Are you new to the area or just new to fishing?
