Thinking of trying my hand at hericium and ganoderma using Lipas fuel pellet tek. Is there a recommended species of hardwood or reliable brand of pellets people have found? Is it super important to get 100% hardwood or do hard/soft mixes work?
Good teks?

While I try to avoid softwood for those species they do pretty good on most hardwoods. Ganoderma give no fucks at all really, you can do those on coir verm if you wanted to. Oak seems pretty good for most stuff IMO.

Farm and fleet hardwood fuel pellets work great

Wanted to get you tc's opinions on these jars. Still working on my eyes when it comes to grains and bulk. Last shoeboxes took a shit, but I know my coir was way over field capacity. Would the sub being over field capacity stall a tub. It happened to everyone of them and they were all spawned with the same batch of bucket tek coir.

Those grains look okay to me and an over wet sub could definitely stall a spawn run .

Thanks for the input pasty! Defiantly changed a few things up from the last time with grain prep, and also how I'll be going about my coir prep this time. Trying to dial things in with my mush cult skills. At least I know better now so its not a total loss, just a learning experience.

Mine stay on or near my flow hood until they are colonized. Once colonized I put them in ziplock bags then in my refrigerator unless it is a species that doesn’t tolerate cold then it gets double bagged and put on the shelf.

Got a question. Got a mono fruiting presently. I've had a couple of initial fruits grow really quick compared to the rest of the pins, but they've matured with broken veils at only about 3 inches tall. So I cut them, solid stems, fruits about 2g wet, nice bruising. I've read RR state that tiny mature fruits can be a result of lack of FAE and lack of light. This is my first grow but I really think I've been pretty on top of giving it good light and fanning. It's MS cubes growing in coir, fairly wet but not waterlogged by any means. The tub lives outside in filtered sunlight, which I've been supplementing with direct sunlight for about 10-20 mins per day.
Any thoughts? Is it possibly just MS variability or do I potentially need to look at what I'm doing.

Wet may have been a little too strong a word. I apologise. Let's say damp. If you guys click on my gallery there's a fair few pics uploaded.

Here's one from a few days earlier. Should give you an idea of surface conditions.

Yessir that is a classic example of a hella wet sub. The stringy looking myc and the small fruits all are indicative. Also looks like the environment is dry causing the caps to look bleached a bit. Not really much you can do at this point besides keeping it in ideal conditions and waiting. I'm sure you know but next time prep drier, and make sure it's at proper field capacity.

thanks but...
that autoclave is for high pressure , i'm talking low pressure ,
and this is 70 to 100 cubic meters , i'm talking 6 cubic meters ,
i'm thinking a small boiler as a steam source , for a very much smaller operation like RR's homemade boiler , only not homemade ,
made sense?
