it can be measure the recovery or what we call it (in %).

I can't see that it is largely proveable, but. it is something I have that makes me think so, like instinct or intuition

If I presume that I have all the free will I feel I have,  I still think the percentage under my control is low. 5%,1%, maybe less.

free will is a meaningless discussion

setting in in the deciding moment is brain activity. like real. that happens. that exists.

maybe free will y only exists as your identity reflecting your actions, like your identity, self, brain acivity causing your actions like a wave from both ends of the picture (which is curved) of your identity moving into the middle and creating another curved wave spawning your movement

I agree, but those 1-5% could make a huge difference in your life. Especially if it is involved in things like: choosing what to study, choosing where to work, choosing who to marry, and choosing where to move.

that's right

and choosing to work

and choosing to not do a drug that one usually does at that time.

I don't think there's a limit to where one's actions if one is in control of 15% of one's actions can take you.

messed up is very much like being in a situation under pressure, negative pressure, because we are what we do, so because of what we do, but because we are what we do, so what we are (like our experiences) are less positive (because our situation is under pressure).

meditation seems to make our situation less under pressure like

1%. Control is mostly an illusion, and often a lie we tell ourselves. We apply the illusion of control in retrospect to things we had no control over because we don't want to admit that we have no control.

However, that 1% is so powerful that over time it can potentially overcome the other 99%. Or not.

coming back from being really messed up shows the amount of control we have.
it is an enormous effort but can be done by working (conditioning and cultivating) the material (mind/body) we are made of.

is there a percentage for that? is it 1% or 100%, the transformation can be  extensive, including complete reversal, but the time it takes is lengthy.

it takes intention, application, patience, and getting out of the way (humility).

Well you can definitely measure how well a person is since the inception of what they had to go through..like how they are doing currently compared to how they were..

That might be a topic for another post actually..

I have only recovered/built skill and wellness since my psychosis(which I was at 0%) at about say 58% which is the same amount that I think I'm free..

This ocean is the only thing

Swimming in it (when not a puddle)

It shifts and ripples out

I think things are both out of an in your control.

You are allowed free reign of the instincts you were bred with and the situation you were placed into.

However, those two may not be in your control.

I believe instincts are from natural selection, but which one we choose has an external objective measuring stick and is within our control.

Well the fresh and free feeling of experience says you have freewil..

You are fully free and capable of doing and influencing what you want.. its a tanded choice and power station..

Will itself is supreme.. but this will follow your values and curiosity.. its easy to mark places/ideas where you are high at.. which you may or may not want to change.

True, 100% alive.
In this conversation we report various percentages of comfort/pressure/sanity;
and that meditation can take the pressure off (at least like a pause on the media player);
yet there is no real consensus about how much is under control.

This may be because the question is not relevant unless you are a general, or a manager of a department.
Life is not war or a factory (but both are symbolic cases in which control, repetition, and training are big issues - no wonder we walk around with the word resonating in our heads).

An infinite percentage of an allotted infinit-e.
Beyond your countable perception but on the order of degrees that can be understood and manipulated if you put in the proper effort. To many people focus on quantifying instead of living/expressing/understanding. Such people are fools in my book who will never achieve any sensible measures.
