Because the owners are stalling, many top free agents are still unsigned. This seems to have worked out for them because many agents have reduced their contract demands in a slow market.

To get to the point, the union is now holding spring training for unsigned players, which I believe has only happened once before.

So who's going to win this year? I keep hearing the Yankees and Dodgers. The Cubs should be good. I'm afraid there will be at least a couple more "wait till next years" for the White Sox.

Yea its crazy how many players are unsigned still.

Giants had me worried for a while but made a coupld good pickups with McCutchen and Longoria. Some folks are unhappy about having a team full of old men but the reality is Posey and
his crew are still at their peak and its not time for a full rebuild, despite losing 98 games last year.

I think Bums got a fire in his belly after the shenanigans last season as well.

Can't wait to watch some ball!

Red Sox got J.D.  Think it will be between the Yanks, Bosox, and Astros for the top three.  I will be happy if the Rockies get in the playoffs but of course have no chance as they are my team.  Cubs, after last year, they have to prove they have something left.  I just don't see the Dodgers winning it.

But on to the season in one month.  With just the NBA going and NHL I hate this time of year as a sports fan.  I like to go to a game without spending 100 dollars.

God damn fuck pointless ass spring training baseball!!!!!!!!

Mad Bum gets a fractured hand and an entire season gets flushed down the fucking drain before it even starts. I am beyond pissed.

Is he really out for the year?  I vacation to San Fran and see Giant games.  I love his mentality and his fuck you all attitude.  It is such a cool vibe at those games and the party atmosphere.  I know the area quite well.

Will google it.  It was amazing watching a Giants game when he was pitching and how much people were into it.  Then the next day where the fans could give a shit less as far as being so into every inning and the pitching performance.  I feel your pain man.  As a sports fan.

It's mainly frustrating because ive been listening to the local radio heads hype this new season up every day for the past month, and of course Bum was the center of the hype. "Ohhh what's he gonna do against Kershaw at the home opener blah blah blah..."

I'll tell ya what he's gonna do, he's gonna watch Johnny Cueto take his spot.

Those bastards were going on and on about the Turner injury in LA too, talking about "lets just finish this weekend with no injuries."

Cheese and rice, kill me now.

Don't listen to L.A. talking heads, and yes on game from a World Series last year but do you know how many fans would give for all the championships SF has?  Was interesting listing to a SF hometown broadcaster that was so jaded by the season the Giant's were having and him just having that level of cynicism.  Was kind of amusing in a way when you are used to winning compared to the crap that was last years team and him having to endure broadcasting them.

They have upgraded of course.  N.L. West is good besides the Padres.  Looking forward to opening day.

I meant the SF radio cats, mainly Murph and Mac on KNBR. I listen to them almost every morning.

Anyway, the more i think and read about this, it's essentially like this injury shut the door on this teams championship window. They were trying to make one last run with a group of veterans who have proved themselves plenty in the past. Last year was a fluke ( so they said), just a combination of injuries and weird luck on the field. This year was supposed to be the rebound year, the year we challenged the Doyers and went for that 4th title shot.

Oh well. Like you said, we really have nothing to complain about in SF. Other teams would be stoked on 3 Championships.

I just hope the Sharks stay hot!

Guessing you mean San Jose.  Avalanche fan, been a long time since they even made the playoffs.  But not going to turn it into a NHL thread.  It's wonderful when you live in a city with all four major sports teams and is a sports town.

Still, I have been to so many Rockies games but San Fran games have a special vibe to them where it is like a party almost.  How happy people are going to it.  3 championships helps of course but San Fran is just an amazing city.

Fuck the Niners though and the Silicon valley shit that was made for them outside the city.  Best of luck with your teams.  Saw Madison twice.  Once in S.F. and once in Denver.  glad his injury is not to severe as I am a fan of his.  Going to L.A. to see the Angels in 3 weeks and Trout and the beach.  You can't swim in the ocean in San Fran or Seattle, lol.

Life is good.

So Ty Blach came out and totally surprised me, and so did the entire bullpen. Kershaw was Kershaw, but 1 run was enough to win.

The Dodgers are having a ceremony Saturday, apparently they are celebrating losing game 7 at home. Or maybe they are excited about having their sewage overflow onto the stands and field, what a shit franchise. :haha:

With a 200 million dollar payroll back from the strike when the expos had such an amazing team.  I really don't feel bad for them and that game seven loss. Will be visiting my birthplace soon and will see a Angels-Bosox game. fuck teams like the Yankees and Dodgers. You could put Boston in there as well but their championships were all the credit is due, to PTSD's  Like Armstrong and his victories they should be stripped of those two championships.

Things are looking decent in Boston.

Baseball is #1 in my book. Giants pitchers have been plagued by injuries. Cueto is out after a Cy Young caliber start, but Mad Bum should be back soon. Mac Williamson was hitting bombs before he ran into a wall head first. Hopefully he comes back soon. If the Giants stay afloat long enough for Cueto and Bum to get back into rhythm i think they can get a wildcard.

Dodgers suck ass. :haha:

Thanks for the response Ran-D. Baseball is my favorite sport for sure. The Red Sox started out super hot this year, then we started to lose to some poor teams. Mookie Betts has been phenomenal.

Not a ton of injuries for us, but our #2 pitcher (Price) supposedly got carpal tunnel from playing some video game! Like, c'mon brah.

Our division is mostly bums, but that Yankees line up is intimidating... No worries, we got this.

It's a long season!

Dodgers really do suck this year which is fine.  Being a Rockies fan it's great and Arizona is finally starting to lose.  Will be interesting who gets the wildcard, doubt it will be San Fran but if they do they do.  I love seeing games there, the vibe and city is amazing and is a great small vacation.

Boston and New York are amazing to watch this year with their payrolls and talent.  The Yanks won like what?  17 out of 18?  Wish I would of rode that streak betting for awhile.  Even though the Astros are still great am thinking it will either be Boston or the Yankees that take it all this year depending on health as they both have the payroll and talent.

I love going to baseball games and stream game recaps on mlb on my apple t.v.  You aren't the only baseball fan out there.  It is a great sport.

You're right, Giants might have a better shot at winning the division than winning a Wild Card since our division seems to suck ass this year. D bags are only 4 games up right now.

I see your Rockies in 2nd but honestly I dont see that lasting.

Yeah, Brewers taking 3 out of 4 at Coors sucked.  They have no pitching.  Long season though.  Just wondering when Kershaw comes back if the Dodgers go on some massive winning streak like the Yanks did and win 14 out of 15 or something simular.  They have so much talent.  D-Backs do to as well but way to early to call the division.  Just glad to see them losing lately.  Never get tired of seeing the Dodgers lose.

I root for the Giants because I love to visit San Fran and they have such a fun hostel there that was made out of a fort and is on the wharf, and the ballpark environment is amazing.  People have a lot of fun at the games there as people in that city are pretty open and liberal and enjoy themselves.  Live and let live.  L.A. seems hostile in comparsion.  My birthplace.

Yea I love that park. Really need to get to a couple games this year. Prices are actually affordable for the first time in years. I even saw some seats starting at $6, thats 2 tickets for the price of a single beer . I guess this is the upside of sucking.

A's games can be pretty fun too. At least when the team doesnt totally suck, their crowd knows how to have fun. Got to see them play the Yankees in the playoffs one year and had a blast.

That is amusing.  Dodgers just won today but watching highlights having the same record as the Marlins.  A Dodger fan gave me so much shit about being a Rockies fan, like it was so pathetic.  I was born in L.A. but have lived more in Denver.  Fuck the Dodgers, when I take a cheap flight with a backpack to L.A. and the beach it is on to Anaheim and to see the Japanese guy they acquired and Trout.

Nice to see Verlander on his game though and completely dominate him.  Guessing he is very happy to have gotten a ring last year and be out of Detroit.

Brandon Belt suggests umpire made bad call on purpose to try 'to get the game over with

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.yahoo.com/amphtml/sports/brandon-belt-suggests-umpire-made-bad-call-purpose-try-get-game-041048948.html

A walk would have brought the tying run to the plate, but instead the umpire calls a strike on a ball that EVERYONE agrees was clearly outside.

Quote:

Brandon said:
It’s tough because you hope an umpire doesn’t affect the game like that... But he did, and you’re not sure if it was on purpose either. I’ve heard the guy multiple times say that, or insinuate, that he’s trying to get through the game fast, and then he makes calls like that, that I can’t imagine he really thought was a strike. You gotta wonder.

I blame anyone who has ever complained about pace of game. Baseball is fine how it is Damnit! Basketball and football are wayyyyy slower! Shit I watched Warriors Rockets the other night and they were going to commercials after 2-3 minutes of play every time. Not to mention coaches call timeouts EVERY time the game starts getting exciting. Basketball and football have zero flow.

I agree.  And they keep putting more and more replays in with baseball when you play 162 games a season.  Am tired of them pointing after a play at a base or plate then seeing the catcher or fielder immediately point to the manager in the dugout for a replay.  Wish they would of just stuck with the replay of if homeruns are homeruns or not.

The amount of timeouts the give NBA teams is ridiculous which includes automatic television timeouts.  And though they are making more money in the NBA then ever before but start putting corporate logos on the jerseys?  Everytime I think of the Celtics I think of General Electric.  It's just American greed.

Football has it's own problems but IMO it is far less then the other two most popular sports in the States.

When you talk about a ump that just wanted a game done with years ago there was a 18 inning Rockies/Pirates game.  I watch extra inning games if I am not busy and drink my favorite beverage.  So there it is like, one a.m. something and the tag was put on when the guy was so far away and just starting to slide into the plate and so obvious and the home plate ump called him safe.

It was the worst call I have ever seen and I have watched a lot of baseball.  The Rockies manager who was Hurdle at the time went ballastic.  I just found it amusing as the ump knew and just didn't give a shit, he was tired of the game lasting that long.

A Chicago Tribune story from 2 days ago said the White Sox were on pace to to have the worst record in modern history. They have won one of their last two games which could foul up this bid for immortality.

Yes.  I mainly just watch highlights streamed of teams I am interested in but didn't know the wrong Sox where on pace to be that epically bad.  Sale to the other Sox doesn't help of course.  Made me laugh when he cut up his 70's leisure style on a retro jersey night before his start and refused to wear it.  You can do that when you are a CY Young winner I guess.

I would still go to a Sox game on the South Side as I have been there if they would bring back nickel beer night.  Or maybe instead of disco night and blowing them up midfield between a doubleheader you could do that with CD's you no longer can stand to listen to.  I would attend and participate.

Yes, Chris Sale is a beast. Few have the command that he does. Our game just ended, and Martinez hit 2 more homers today, which ties Mookie Betts' MLB leading 15 home runs this season.

Pretty amazing to have 2 hitters like that on the same team!!

Good show boys, good show.

:congrats:

Great signing to get J.D. and what Mookie is doing is amazing to watch as a just a baseball fan in highlights.  Just glad to see the Yankees finally starting to lose some games.  Of all the teams in baseball I hate the Yankees the worst for many reasons I won't go into.  Plus I have never lost once betting on Boston.  Only team I can say that about which of course makes me like them even more when money is involved.  They have something special with this years team.

Watched him pitch in at San Fran.  The crowd was so into him each inning he pitched and won of course.  Is amazing the D-Backs have lost 10 of 11 and the Rockies are in first place.  But with a hundred games to go don't think it is set in stone.  Will be nice to see him back soon.  I love his fuck you attitude.

Well, it is better than P.E.D.'s  For the baseball fans, I have my thoughts on this like they want to make the game more exciting among other things.  But it makes a lot more sense why baseballs are going a lot farther then before on some great pitches.  Like someone hitting one out of the dirt basically and it just kept carrying over the fence.  Whatever.  Pitchers and batters adjust.

Dodgers are starting to win everything and Kershaw will be back soon.  Anyone see them getting back to the world series and within one game of winning it this year?

They certainly could win the division considering how shitty it is. Giants have a losing record and they're 2 games back . Doyers will never win the Series though because they're the Doyers.

Giants have won 4 straight including a dominant sweep of the phillies. Now they face the first place D-Bags.

Good news: Bumgarner is back tomorrow!!!
Bad news: Brandon Belt, after an all-star caliber start to his season, had to have his appendix removed and is out for a few weeks I assume.

But did I mention Bumgarner is back tomorrow?! :awesomenod:

Dodgers sweep the Rockies at Coors and are winning everything.  Plus they get Kershaw back who is better than Madison.  They will run away with the N.L. West again, and just going to be interesting who gets the wildcard(s) in the division as Arizona is starting to win finally again.

Way to early still besides the Dodgers just have way much more talent then the other three.  Afraid it might be dog eat dog and maybe none will get in this year as all three are very evenly matched but it could be worse.  You could be a Padres fan.

A's are the hottest team in the league and their players are on TV begging fans to attend games.

NL West is garbage still. Giants starting rotation is fucked up, but Derek Rodgriguez (Pudge's son) is pitching so damn well he's a ROTY candidate. Unfortunately no matter how well him or Bum pitch the offense can't score more than 2 runs a game. As much as I love Cutch, him and Longo just aren't coming through like they were expected to. Buster Posey seems to have lost his power as well, and he can only spend so many games behind the plate these days. Time for the inevitable rebuild.

At least the Doyers ain't doin shit this year, that's really all that matters.

Dude. When did you get back?

On baseball, right now the Red Sox are so much better than everyone else, it will be a disappointment if they don't win it all.

Buster Posey got hip surgery, and now Cutch is a Yankee. I guess the only positive is the Giants can use their last 30 games or whatever to develop young players.

I used to be a huge Braves fan but lately don't have enough time to pay attention to baseball but I stay in Atlanta so you can't help but hear about them.

One question I have is why does Ronald Acuna bat first when he seems to hit so many home runs?

Wouldn't it be better to put some runners on base in front of him and let him drive in some runs?

I'm sure there is an explanation that I haven't considered but it just seems odd.

I listen to the radio broadcast and the announcers have talked about this. The consensus is that he’s so young and started off so effectively it’s just like if it ain’t broke don’t fix it kind of mentality. Baseball superstition perhaps. I actually agree with keeping him where he’s at in the line up. If he’s comfortable leading off then lead off goddamn.

Rockies leading the N.L. West over the Dodgers.  Classic.  Some Dodger fan was how can you like the Rockies when L.A. is so far superior with it's city and size, team but in such a mocking manner like Denver is some little hick town.  Well, glad you finally got some NFL back in your massive city and I was born right outside of it in Whittier.  And because I lived in Denver a good part of my life and loved going to the games and following the team.  And because L.A. has the payroll of the Sox and Yankees and try to buy championships.  200 million payroll, can they just pay to get a championship without actually winning one on the field?

Fuck the L.A. Dodgers and the Lakers for that matter.  The ego's and feelings of superiority.  At least Angel fans are alright.  This game should be interesting today with Rockies/Dodgers on this Sunday and Braves fan, your team will beat out Phillie, I wouldn't worry to much.

But as far as who will win it all this year, this Red Sox and Astros series that they are playing this weekend and will in the playoffs, I think whoever wins that in the playoffs gets the championship.  God those teams are talented.  And may the Yanks lose their one game playoff game I hope.  Yankee fans are as bad as Dodger fans, just in a shitty East coast entitled way.

I agree the Braves are good but like you said I don’t think they can beat the American League champs. Of course I’m rooting for them but baseball can be so fucking heartbreaking I’m only like 75% invested if that makes sense. I’m preparing for the inevitable lol. Trying to just enjoy a good season.

Rockies are 1/2 game back of the Doyers. Giants get the Doyers for the final 3 games with a chance to spoil their season.

Great day to be a baseball fan and hit the bars.  Cubs just starting.  But then to the Rockies, beat the fucking Dodgers in L.A. and win your first N.L. West title in 25 years of the franchise and its existence. And fuck the Giants, roll over like dogs to them to even have this game when the Rockies could only get 1 out of 3 in San Fran.

God, I am going to be so fucked up by the time the Broncos game rolls around.  Enjoy your day people.  Been a long season and today is a special day.  :myers: Lol.

October, what fun!:sun:

Rockies/Cubs.  163 games and today it comes down to this.  I have no clue who will win as I don't bet against my favorite team.  Lester can be dominant but can also give up a lot of runs early.  Freeland, will be interesting how he handles the pressure.

Would love to be on the North Side today to take in the atmosphere.  Still amazes me the Brewers beat out the Cubs for the division.  But on to the game.

With you on that one.  Like with Jeter dodging that tag long ago the A's will find a way to lose this one.  I want them to win, would bet heavily on the Yankees, but can't do it when I really want another team to win and upset them.

Boston turned into the Yankees.  I despise both teams as well and their massive ego's and fans.  Like Dodger fans.  And the absurd team payrolls.

Brew Crew and the Rockies should be an interesting series.  I like the Cubs but they got their championship so I don't feel to bad for them.  Just surprised the Brewers took the division that late in the year.  Didn't surprise me the Rockies caved to the Dodgers, and they will again if they play them again, but having Wolters make a game winning RBI with two outs is oh so sweet!

I respect baseball fans and talk to them throughout the States.  It is nothing special and I have made some money off it in my life.  Evil Empire vs. Evil empire 2.  I could care less who wins this series.

For ratings and the major markets and payrolls, it is golden.  Whatever.

Ugghh.  No offence.  Educated guess is the Brewers win this series and L.A. dominates the Braves. And it will be the MLB dream to have a L.A. and N.Y. matchup for ratings on the tube for the W.S.  Just pay to win a championship and let all these months and following a team be what it is.

I’m going to enjoy this the best I can without getting too disappointed because yeah you’re probably right about the dodgers.

The Braves are good though. They’re a fun team to follow. My old old chums.

Or great.  The love of great competition to the people who devote basically half of their lifetime to it that play it.  Like Scully said it hurts worse to lose a game then to win one.

As you have posted being a Braves fan look forward to game two.  Though some have posted they love the one game playoff I think it is stupid after a 162 game season.  Whatever, is what it is.  May the Braves and Rockies win tomorrow.

I see more hope for my Rockies than the Braves.  Watched them growing up.  As the only stations that showed baseball was Harey Carry and Turner and TBS with the Braves.  Why my brother became a Cubs fan and why I followed the Braves for so many years as I played baseball quite well before my 5'8 frame was overpowered.  Play softball well.

I hope, despite the first game of these series that they match up but won't happen.

18 innings without a run

In the misery department with the Rockies and the ineptitude offensively.

I thought it would be somewhat bad with the Rockies but not this much.  Atlanta, I kind of expected and was disappointed the Rockies didn't match up with them in the post season.  Atlanta, I really don't know what to make off them down the road but I know the team this year.  And yes, you are correct.

At least the Condor beat the Yanks today.  I thought I hated Boston but I realized I hate the Yankees more.

I’m so fucking sick of the Boston NY thing. And if it LA NY in the WS I’m not watching a game of that shit.

Yes, I am sick of 200 million plus payrolls and big market matchups.  The players strike for this way back when Montreal could of been a favorite and probably would of won the world series that year is long gone.  People throwing money on the field, I get it and was amusing.  That Expo team had so much talent with Pedro and Larry and so on and that record before the strike.

If it is a L.A. and Red Sox matchup, or the Yanks, I am with you on that one.  Though I do like to see the final pitch of a W.S.  Still going with the Red Sox and whoever wins that will win the W.S. Though L.A. has a shot.

For our teams.  Just score a run in the game three's.

I give the beer brewers a chance against them.  Rockies got 2 runs the whole NLDS and shut out the last two.  Think they would give them a series.  Enjoy the Braves and the one run victory.  If they win three in a row over L.A.  Then I will eat crow.  Always knew they would win the division even when hope was there but always felt like a false hope as a Rockies fan.  They beat the Cubs but I like the Cubs.

Best in the series, I hope the Braves prove me wrong but they won't.

Big market teams every year with 200 million plus payrolls.  Going up higher next year compared to lower for small market.  The poor and some that are still hanging on to middle class status.  Kind of mirror of society in America.

Right.  Atlanta is just blowing there chances and has nothing to do with talent level and payroll.  Players choking which L.A. is good at as well even if one makes 25 million a year but pretty sure of what people want and what they will get is quite different.  Fans of L.A. not so much.

Would like the Astros to be in the N.L.  but those times have past.  Then it would of been a Yankee or Bosox matchup against the Astros.  But year after year, is getting quite predictable.

Not a fan of the Brewers of beer, but I like those that do,  I didn't see this coming.  Found it amusing that they won game one, they will.  Believe me.    I wish the man in his costume would still slide into a beer after a homerun.

P.C.  what can one do?  Smoke a joint a guess there.  They have the highest per capita in the U.S. to bars to people and good for them.  Wisconsin people made me laugh when they waved a massive flag that Had a massive W in mockery of the Cubs when battling to win the division to ridicule them.  Made  me laugh.  Rockies getting two runs over three games, not so much so, but I hope they win they series.  All big market teams besides them.

Shit.  Proofread.  I am fucked up.  But message go across  I hope I don't miss it if next year they get in and I make the rounds of a playoff game, a Camp Randall game, and a Green Bay game.  If I am fucked up enough it will happen and like a saint on a pillmagrage in Indian and cricket, people will see me through on my journey.

Seriously though, Wisconsin people are amazing.

Gave up after the Braves were eliminated?  Try being a fan of a team that scores two runs in 3 games and blow the division at the end.  I am not going to watch much besides when it matters or highlights.  No one really cares on the Shroomery nowadays.  It used to be different man, it was so different.  Lol.  Just enjoy what you choose, at least someone responded on this thread.

The sports forum used to be one of the most active forums

Zappa died
Shlong died
Elax disappeared
I was one year ban hammered
Others moved on

You keep talking about the glory days - historically I’m one of the most active posters in sports forum history

I’m knowledgeable enough to hold my own when discussing sports

I’m not an expert but you’re condescending without cause

Ignore feature.  Use it.  And I have great cause and what people are offended by is amazing yet am glad to know I have offended many in your opinion, without cause.

But how about that 8th inning?  Actually talking about sports.  I love your team, kiss my ass.  No.  I wanted the Rockies to win, they did not.  I wanted the Brewers to win today, they did not.  Whatever, it is a game.

I go to so many sports bars and talk to sports fans honestly with those with knowledge of it and are interested in it.  Around the States.  Stating facts isn't condensending to me and putting in a jab.  It is not mean spirited.

Whatever, their are interesting people and I have communicated with some on the Shroomery that are also knowledgable about sports that matter as are you.  I am more than OK to not have sports talk on the shroomery.  I will live.

I know a south sider from Chicago, I know many old timers.  In a way the shroomery is banter, like at a sports bar.  It isn't that important in the overall importance of things, it is just fun.  And saves a lot of money to me.

No. Not just because they are down 1-0 in the 7th right now, I honestly wasn't even sure Boston would win the first two games let alone sweep.

Is anyone else tired of this pitch count bullshit? Can you imagine being a pitcher and throwing 7 shutout innings in the World Series and getting pulled because of fucking "sabermetrics"? I hate the Dodgers and I feel bad for this guy.

I'm trying to picture Bruce Bochy pulling Mad Bum in that situation, I don't think that would go over well.

Think they will get one.  When I am reading this the Dodgers have 2 on with two outs in the bottom of the 9th.  50/50.  Really should of just rode the Red Sox.  They have been amazing all year but I like I posted whoever wins the Astros/Sox series will get the title, yeah.  I just thought the Astros would of given them more of a series.

God, it is the bottom of the 18th.  Cleveland's pitcher has almost pitched a complete game.  Have watched a full game in extra innings.  Guess I can say that I did that once in my life.  And it is still going.

You made it through it all?  I just said fuck it, I am watching all this thing starting in the bottom of the 9th when I got home.  I didn't think that would get out, I thought the earlier one was.

Fuck it.  It is 4 a.m.  and six a.m in the East and fuck them.  Lol.  I will sleep during the day.  College football can wait.  Bama and everyone else and I fucking hate it.  Ohio State laid a massive egg and I hate the state, program, and Saban.  And the massive obesity and poverty epidemic there.  Fuck off Roll Tide people.  They always say Roll Tide with these fake grins that look like puppets when saying it.

Maybe there are more important things in their state then rich corrupt pollitions and a rich douchebag for a coach and fighting obesity.  Fuck them.

I love Pacific Time.  Mountain is OK.  East just suck IMO.  Great game.  They pitched a starter in the W.S. in the W.S. for almost 9 innings in extra innings.  Have never seen that before and he was fucking amazing.

Just glad they made a series out of it for some baseball entertainment.  As hard as it is to root for the Dodgers.  His interview after the HR was amusing, he just wanted to sleep.  Never seen a world series game like that.  Smolz just gave up after awhile about how no one could do it out of the bullpen though this guy was a starter and he did.

Anyway, just a great game.  No one gives a shit about baseball where I live at this time and at bars.  We did have someone murdered as all people give a shit is the University here that made national news.

Whatever, on to game  and three/four but it is as two to the talking heads.  I think the Indians, I mean Red Sox, Lol, did anyone think the Tribe had a chance, go on to win the next one.  John lives in a different time of baseball.

It was 9 innings too long.

If the dodgers would have let their starter finish the fucking job they would have saved the world from 4 hours of uneventful baseball.

4 to nothing in the sixth I believe.  I tuned out and then it is 5-4.  Whatever.  I hate both teams though it does bring some satisfaction to see the smug Dodgers lose.  Not that the Sox fans are much better, just a Rockies fan.  SF folded to them which pisses me off but you as an Atlanta fan, you had to expect the outcome.

I can't imagine winning 15 divisions in a row and just one championship.  I grew up on WGN and the Cubs, Harry Carrey and all that shit, and the Braves when Chipper was just starting.  So I have some feeling for them both.  All the baseball that was available to watch and espn.

Did you really think the Braves would go anywhere during this postseason?  This years team?  They don't have the payroll or talent.  Turner made it strict.  Rockies, I watched them for years and went to games and the year after I moved they made it to the World Series.  Made me laugh.

Like Houston that never had a win in the W.S. the went on to win it all and I have a slim hope.  Just glad their is another baseball fan on the shroomery.  Where I live now no one gives a shit.  Dodgers are done.  Whatever.  I hate their smugness.

I guessed right.  One game for the Dodgers.  Whatever, better them than the Yankees.  Both have young and talented teams with unlimited budgets.  Will be interesting to see them compete against each other in the years to come.

And with that, farewell to this season.  Will tune in again during free agent time.

Dodgers fans trying to save face by talking shit on Giants pages.

"How did the Giants do this year? 3 in 5 isn't relevant anymore blah blah blah"

They did the same as the Dodgers. 2nd place is the same as last place. And sorry but those 3 wins are still very relevant. And believe me when I say all 3 felt equally amazing, just as both of these back to back failures probably feel equally shitty.

Kershaw is the biggest fraud in MLB history. I do not give a shit how dominant he is in the regular season, he chokes every time when it matters most.

So, all in all, this year sums up to...

:haha:

I know.  Why does he complain.  They won before the Cubs.  And people in Chicago were as pissed as shit about it.  They have a good future trading Sale IMO.  Laughed when he cut up his jersey from the leisure suit throwback then though and I like him but they have to rebuild.

They got a championship.  How much I would of loved to see the Rockies even win one game in the World Series.  Used to feel bad for Houston as at that time frame they got swept.  But they won one.

Still sucks to have a hometown team that is unbearably bad to watch and go out and see in person.  Been there done that.

Expansion team or do they plan on poaching one?

Machado to the Padres.  No fucking way.  Harper, is more interesting anyway where he will land.  Thoughts?

Trout is the man.  Kind of took the wind out of Harper and his contract.  Thanks for staying in the west coast.  I can keep my Angels hat, my late Grandfather was a huge fan of the Angels, not the Dodgers, and my red cleats to play in with softball.

Traveled to Denver to see him play at Coors.  Still keep the ticket.  He hit two home runs that game.  As a fan of the Rockies, wasn't disappointed.  Have lived in Denver on and off.  Sometimes one just goes to see a player.

Spring is less than a week away and it is almost time.  430.  I would take Trout and he is so much better than Harper.  That much more.  I love this time of year when March Madness starts and Baseball is ready to begin soon.

Anyone look at the schedules and plan on stadiums and teams to see.  June 11, heading to Coors for the Cubbies.  Anyone have a favorite stadium, team that isn't a hometown one as Coors was during the lean years and generation R., yes I am old, or player/team one will vacation to?  To go see a player or team?

Trout is the best. MLB is disappointed that he doesn't like publicity and self-promotion. He's a throwback.

He has class and does a lot of things that go unnoticed with his time that I respect.  He gets it.

If I remember correctly reading some of your posts you are a White Sox fan and knowledgeable about the sport.  Maybe start an MLB 2019 thread if you choose.  Time is almost here for opening day.

Trout is the best by far. It's a bummer that he is staying in LA. That team will never win and it sucks staying up until 1 a.m. to see him play.

I am glad that the White Sox didn't get Harper or Machado. Harper is a punk. Can't stand him. I wasn't as much against them going for Machado, but I don't think that he will be worth the money in the long term either.

Not to me with Trout.  Still have my ticket and Angels hat and cleats for softball.  Played when I was young and my Grandfather was always an Angels fan, not a Dodgers one.  Want to be depressed? Watch the end of Albert and his career and salary gouging.

Glad the Friar's got Machado.  A little bit of parity but it won't matter.  Red Sox again and I don't care about the currant record, that will change.

Some say baseball is boring.  Slow.  The same people that need a screen in front of them 24/7 and can't stand quiet or a good conversation.

Just venting to whoever.  I love the game and playing it and always will.

I think baseball is faster than basketball

The fouling game takes forever and is boring as shit

Baseball has good balance and ends the game with a bad ass closer pitching

Plus most (not all) people who complain baseball is slow don’t really get how much difference one ball or one strike can make or even a foul on the pitch count and wearing through the bullpen.

Last year they made some reforms to speed it up a bit and imo last season was great

Football takes 3 hours for 12 minutes of action, if that's not slow I dont know what is.
