Agar has/had bacteria

I have a quart jar i keep excess agar in that i noticed developed bacteria across the top. I pressure cooked the jar and was just confirming that it should be okay to use now?

If you pressure cooked it then it should be fine but using previously contaminated stuff always makes me nervous.

Do you make pasty plates or do you pour?

I definitely wouldn't reuse it. The bacteria could have made toxins or chemicals that swing the pH away from neutral. Dead bacteria isn't in any recipe I use.

I concur. Toss it, always better safe then sorry.
